Industries may effect with two day power holiday

Telangana government has increased the power holiday from one-day a week to two-days to industries in Hyderabad to save the standing crops. This two-day power holiday will come into effect from Wednesday onwards. Minister Harish rao said it is necessitated with huge gap between demand and supply of power.

The present overall consumption is 154 million units but there is only 123-30 million units supply. Hence, the government plans to save additional 1.3 million units by increasing power holiday to industrial sector and divert the same to agriculture to save the standing crops. Although, this may be a temporary measure, it may adversely affect the beleaguered industrial sector. Daily wage labor and employees may become first victims of this power holiday affect.
