Swami Nityananda on The Lookout of Karnataka Police
Controversial Swami Nityananda, who is facing allegations of anti-social and immoral activities in his Bidadi ashram, besides allegations of land encroachment and criminal intimidation, is on the lookout of Karnataka police. The district administration of Ramanagaram and senior police officials started searching controversial Swami Nithyananda following directives of Karnataka chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda to seal the ashram and arrest Nityananda.
On Tuesday afternoon, a team led by the assistant commissioner SP Agarwal, with the orders, rushed to the Bidadi ashram and initiated the search procedure. The orders, issued by home minister R Ashoka, directed the authorities to investigate the allegations of anti-social and immoral activities in the ashram, besides allegations of land encroachment. The minister demanded a report within 15 days.
Agarwal said that besides Nithyananda, the police were also on the lookout for some of his confidants who were involved in violent incidents at the ashram.
However, no arrests have been made so far in this case. It is believed that Nityananda, who is eluding his arrest eversince the orders are out, has fled the ashram and taken shelter in the Madurai Aadheenam.
