Will KCR win the battle with Centre?

Telangana CM KCR is gearing up for a direct confrontation with Centre over transferring policing powers to Governor in Hyderabad. He took several actions to underline his fighting spirits and to pressurize the Centre to revoke its decision. However, the question is will he will win the war with the Centre or face humiliation at the end?   He is preparing for a legal fight over this issue. But, he too is well aware that he is opposing the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 approved by Parliament and endorsed by President of India. Though, he argues that Centre’s decision is against constitution, it was clearly mentioned in the bill that Governor will have full control of police in the common capital Hyderabad for 10 years. So, the court may reject the petition.   He asked his party MPs to make protests in both houses of Parliament over this issue. If seen their past experience in Polavaram issue in the parliament, it can be easily understand that there is no use of protesting in the parliament.   KCR’s plan to hold a meeting with like-minded Chief Ministers to fight out the Centre may also get poor response, because neither Congress nor BJP Chief Ministers will attend his meeting as their parties have passed bifurcation bill in the parliament that has the clause of according full powers to Governor. Whoever join his fight may not helpful to him anyway because they can’t make Modi bow down before them.   Since, Telangana CM takes this issue as his prestige issue, if he fails to force the Centre revoke its decision through all his efforts, he will face embarrassment at the end. Moreover his fight against Centre may definitely further spoil the bilateral relations between Centre and state, with which the central assistance for the development of the state may be narrowed down.

Modi inspiring speech at BJP National Council Meeting

BJP held a national council meeting at New Delhi, where the party has endorsed the appointment of Amit Shah as party president. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an inspiring speech.   “People have given their verdict through ballot in our favor. Now it is our turn to return the favor to the people. Those, who could do nothing in last 60 years of ruling, are asking us what we have done in the last 60 days. But, I am very sure that we are exactly going in right direction. Currently, we are judged by different and tough yard sticks. Though, I am not aware why it is happening so, I am confident that we will pass the tests,” said Modi.   He said, “Those, who suffered a massive defeat in the elections, still couldn’t come out of the shock and the mood. So, they are still indulged in vote bank politics. They are trying to disturb the social fabric of the country. So our party cadres all over the country need to play a crucial role to ensure communal and national unity.”   The whole world is looking towards us. It may not take longtime to reach the expectations of the whole world, if we continue the same pace in developing the country. If the country is developed, the 125 crore people living in it will also will get the fruits of that development. But, I don’t think Prime Minister alone can do this difficult task without the help and support of the party cadres. It is time for us to do a team work to meet the aspirations of the people,” said Narendra Modi.

How, Naidu is so confident of waiving off crop loans?

Even while stressing the RBI governor for crop loans reschedule, AP government took several measures to generate necessary funds to repay the loans. AP government has saved Rs. 10,000 crore from its regular income sources and sets it aside for the purpose.   The government has saved Rs.5, 000 crores by applying breaks to various works that were started during Kiran Kumar Reddy regime but are not so important or urgent. Naidu government has saved another Rs.5, 000 crores through renewal of licenses to liquor shops and from VAT taxes.   Simultaneously, the state government also formed Resource Mobilization Committee (RMC) lead by MP Sujana Chowdary. RMC was asked to raise funds of Rs.25,000 crores before end of this month. The committee has suggested various options to the state government for generating additional revenue for this purpose. The committee identifies revenue sources like selling Red Sandal wood through global auction, levying cess on Liquor, sand mining and granting of irrigation projects etc. It also suggests the government to mortgage its properties with Bankers guarantying for repayment of the loans. The state government is expecting to raise at least Rs. 20-25,000 crores through these sources in the next couple of months.   So is CM Chandrababu Naidu seems to be quite confident about waiving off the crop loans. Today, he not only reiterated but also said that it is not the end but beginning of such welfare schemes. If he is successful in implementing his elections promise it will add another feather in his cap.
