Chandrababu, KCR Meeting tomorrow

   AP and Telangana Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar rao for the first time are participating in a meeting convened by Governor Narasimhan at Rajbhavan tomorrow to discuss several issues that are creating rift between two states. Governor, who invited them both to 'at home' party yesterday on the eve of Independence Day Celebrations, has suggested them to resolve the problems through dialogue and the both agreed to his suggestion. They will be accompanied by their Principal Secretaries and Assembly Speakers. Governor will preside their meeting to ensure their discussions confined to addressing the problems. If, they could resolve even one issue during their meeting, it would be a great achievement on their part and the whole credit should go to Governor Narasimhan, who takes initiative to mediate between them.

Yedurappa in Amit Shah’s team!

  Amit Shah, who recently elected as President of BJP has surprised everybody by choosing the tainted formed Karnataka Chief Minister Yedurappa as vice president of the party. Yedurappa not only jailed for his corrupt practices but also spoiled BJP’s winning chances in Karnataka state Assembly elections held one year ago. Though some of the seniors in the party opposed his readmission into party, he was welcomed back into party and now also got promoted to highest post in the party. Obviously, this provides a great opportunity to Congress party to question BJP about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s lectures on eliminating corruption. Ram Madhav and Murlidhar Rao have been appointed as the general secretaries of AP and Telangana states simultaneously.

Huge Coal Mines found in Krishna, West Godavari district

  Though, there are many power producing thermal plants are in the state, there was acute power shortage as coal supplies are insufficient. As a result, people of the state have a miserable situation during peak summer with power cuts. However, the situation start improving after TDP government takes charge of the state government. Several measures taken by it during these two months’ time bring the situation under control.   While the power crisis is gradually coming down, state government has received great news from the AP Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) recently. It traced out around 100 crore tons of high quality coal deposits in the sub basin of Chinatalapuri area in West Godavari district. It found huge coal deposits at Racharla-Narayanapuram-Pattagudem, Poothana Samudram-Venkatapuram, Jangareddy Gudem, Chintalapudi, Tadikalapudi, Sitanagaram, Vadlagudem etc. areas in the district.   The Geological Survey of India also has some similar good news for the state government. It traced out huge high grade coal deposits across West Godavari and Somavaram block in Krishna districts. Representatives of both these organizations have met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently and informed about their findings. Indeed it is a blessing for power strapped Andhra Pradesh state, which is solely depends on Singareni coal mines in Telangana and coal mines in Odisha.   Chandrababu Naidu, who is happy with their findings, has ordered the officials of APMDC to make preparations for excavation of the coal taking the suggestions from experts of Coal Mine Planning and Designing Institute. Once, this coal from comes handy the power crisis will be resolved forever. However, state government has to ensure that there is no illegal mining in coal blocks traced out now. Otherwise it will lead to another coal gate scam that takes place during UPA ruling.

Chandrababu spells about state capital

   AP CM Chandrababu Naidu responding to Congress leaders’ allegations of having secret agenda over making Guntur and Vijayawada as temporary capital said “Every person will have some level of selfishness. But, I am very much sure that I am not selfish in this regard. If, I am selfish, I could make Tirupati as the state capital, which falls in my native district and where 3,000 acres of vacant government land is readily available. If, the capital is located somewhere in backward area, it couldn’t attract the investors to the state. So, I am insisting for Guntur and Vijayawada area because it is centrally located and very ideal place. If we make it as our capital we can expect huge investments, which can be diverted to the backward areas. Although, I shift the government there soon, I will stay in Hyderabad for next 10 years to ensure safety and protection to Andhra people settled around.”   Still, opposition parties may not be convinced with his arguments, but he clearly spell his mind on why he is stressing Guntur-Vijayawada should be made capital of the state. However, still he has to answer on how he will avert save the precious fertile lands that are the main source of state food grains production.

'Survey is not Compulsory'

  Reacting on the PIL against Telangana State Integrated Household Survey, the High Court of Hyderabad has given 'conditional' clearance to the Survey that is scheduled for August 19 across the 10 districts of Telangana.   The High Court has recorded the statement of Telangana Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy who made it clear that the "Survey is not must". Advocate General, on behalf of Telangana government, said, "The survey is being conducted for the better implementation of welfare schemes of the government. The participation in the survey is people's choice and it is not compulsory. We're not intruding into anyone's private lives.   " High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, however, said, "Survey cannot be bulldozed. Government could gather information from people only on their willing. Government should not trouble people by seeking their private information, bank account details, mobile phone numbers and etc."   Seetha Lakshmi has challenged Telangana government's move to do Integrated Household Survey and moved the High Court. The petitioner said that government should not make the survey details public. She also said that government should not use the details of survey for levying taxes on people and prosecuting them.   The petitioner also questioned the Survey format asking questions like Caste, Nativity, etc. Petitioner alleged that the Survey is illegitimate as it is against to principles and said that only Central government has right to do this kind of Survey. After hearing two both sides, Court has postponed the case.

Is Home Minister ignorant about sections in the Bifurcation Bill?

    TRS MPs Jitendar Reddy and Vinod Kumar claim that Home Minister Rajnath Singh has agreed to suspend the orders issued by his ministry to Telangana government for according full police administrative powers to governor in common capital Hyderabad.   Speaking to media they said that Home Minister, who was convinced with their arguments has also agreed to change the verbatim of the orders in the letter. They said that Home Minister not even knows what is mentioned in section 8 of the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 until they educate him. They said that they are not opposing the section but opposing misuse of the section. They reiterate their stand to fight against according powers to Governor till Centre revokes its decision.   If they are to be believed then it should be considered as ignorance or negligence of Home Ministry sending a letter to Telangana government without studying the clauses of section 8 in the bill. Otherwise, TRS MPs may be trying bluffing the people by stating that Home Minister is ignorant about the clause and the letter was sent to state without his knowledge.

Ananthapur to get Rs.1500 crore BHEL Project

  AP state government has to react quickly to Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BEL) proposal for setting up a Defence plant in Ananthapur district, otherwise it will slips out of its hand. A delegation from BEL has met CM Chandrababu Naidu yesterday and requested him to allot 1,000 acres of land for setting up this project with an estimated investment of Rs. 1500 crores. Around 500 local people may get direct employment in this project and thousands will get indirect employment through its ancillary units that come along with it. The delegation also asked the Chief Minister to allot land to expand their existing project at Machilipatnam. BEL Machilipatnam is currently manufacturing Infra-Red lenses that have huge demand by Indian Defence wings. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu positively responds to their proposals.

Notification for T-Survey issued

  Telangana government is going to show the country that if a government is really has determination to do any work, it can do it. It makes elaborate arrangements for the massive survey to be conducted in all the 10 districts of the state on August 19th. It issues notification for the survey thus legalizing entire process. It is using total 2,94,830 state government employees as enumerators for collecting information from the 79,55,673 families living in the 10 districts of Telangana state. Since, the survey form consists many columns and needs in depth inquiry over the details furnished by the people, each enumerator was assigned to survey only 30 houses on that particular day.   State government sets up 14, 000 data entry stations to process the data within two weeks period. Government will start scrutinizing this data from September 10th. Government has declared a statewide holiday including banks, private organizations, schools, petrol bunks, industries etc. to enable the enumerators meet each and every citizen of the state personally and collect genuine information from him/her. Government also asks the people to keep ready necessary supporting documents, proofs for filling up the survey forms.   So, if this massive experiment is successfully completed, probably, it may inspire other states also to follow the path. However, people are curious to know how they are going to benefit or lose with this survey. Especially, Andhra people settled in Telangana for decades are very much worrying with this survey, which they believe is intended to betray their due rights.

Government likely to function from Vijayawada

  Many people couldn’t digest AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s sudden decision to make Vijayawada as temporary capital of the state. Congress leaders suspect that he has a hidden agenda in his decision. Students of Kurnool city, who are also strongly protesting his decision, have staged dharna near Gandhi statue in the main junction of the city. However state government, which until now was beating the bush over capital issue, now moving very swiftly.   It zeroed upon Medha Towers near Gannavaram Airport for accommodating its main offices of different ministries. The complex has around 1.75 square feet floor space that is sufficient to accommodate at least 10-15 offices under one roof. State government is also planning to utilize some buildings of Nagarjuna University, APSP Battalion and Veterinary College etc. for this purpose. There are few private buildings also lying vacant near these buildings, which can be used by the state government. Officials in Vijayawada and Guntur are searching for suitable buildings for establishing the state government offices till a permanent capital is built.   If reports are to be believed CM Chandrababu Naidu wants to start functioning from this new place from October 2nd. If so, the officials have to identify and allocate buildings to each department and the concerned departments currently working from Hyderabad have to make arrangements for shifting to new premises within next 45 days, without disturbing the administration process.

Centre and T-Government heading for confrontation?

  It seems confrontation between Centre and Telangana government is inevitable as both stick to their arguments. Almost every minister of KCR cabinet is categorically stating that they will not follow the orders issued by the Centre in according powers to Governor. They also made it clear that Telangana government is ready for a legal fight with Centre over this issue. Today, Centre also simply dismissed Telangana government’s objections and stated that Governor will have full rights as per section 8 of AP Reorganization Bill-2014. So, it seems they are going meet in the Supreme Court very soon over this issue.

Is Jawadekar having second thoughts?

  Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Jawadekar has set Monday as deadline to Telangana MSOs for reviving the two news channels-TV9 and ABN Jyothy, which were banned by them since last three months. However, they throw the ball back into his court stating they can’t obey his orders as they do not have any agreement with those two channels or taking carriage charges from them. The MSOs also made it clear that they are prepared for a legal fight, but will not air those two news channels that are not wanted by people of Telangana. However, union minister neither responds to their challenge nor takes any action against them as warned. Probably, he may be taking legal opinion before taking any decision on MSOs.

Pak refutes Modi’s allegations

  Time and again, Pakistan has proved that its old habits die hard. Just two months back its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shakes hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted for peace at boarders and improvement in bilateral relations between two countries.   However, soon after he departs from India, Pakistani soldiers’ resumes their war against Indian soldiers at LoC and it is continued even yesterday, when Prime Minister of India was around. Therefore, he seems lost his cool and accused Pak for indulging in a proxy war against India.   Obviously, Pakistan rubbishes his allegations with standard diplomatic phrases. Tasnim Aslam, the spokeswoman of Foreign Office of Pakistan dubbed the allegations as baseless and rhetoric. She said that Pakistan has turned a victim of terrorism and 55, 000 innocent people were killed in the terrorists’ attacks. She said that her country wants to have good neighborhood and good relations with it. She asked India to concentrate on improving bilateral relations between two countries instead of indulging in blame game.   While she is admitting that around 55, 000 people were died, she is also condemning India’s allegations that it is indulged in proxy war. People are being killed only because Pakistan is letting the terrorists use its soil. There is no secret that is giving shelter to Hafeez Saeed, the most wanted terrorist for India in Mumbai bomb blasts case. It gives shelter to Bin Laden, the most wanted terrorist for the whole world, who was killed a year ago by the US commandoes. There is no need to explain who attacks on Taj Hotel in Mumbai few years ago.   Yet, Pakistan never admits that it is encouraging terrorists use its soil or extending its full support to them. Now also, it diplomatically condemns the allegations levied against it as if it was a routine affair.

Hidden agenda behind it: Raghuveera Reddy

  AP Congress leaders are sharply criticizing CM Chandrababu Naidu for his temporary capital idea. PCC President Raghuveera Reddy, who once said that his party office will be moved into Vijayawada very soon as the state government is planning to make it as capital of the state. But, now he sees a hidden agenda behind Chandrababu Naidu’s idea of making Vijayawada as temporary capital. He asked why is he suddenly decides to move into Vijayawada, while there is 10 years of time to use Hyderabad as common capital. He demands the government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue. He said that his party opposes temporary capital idea. Former ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and C Ramachandraiah also flays Chandrababu Naidu for his idea and suspects there is hidden agenda behind his move.

Centre inquires about Telangana survey

  The massive Telangana survey slated for August 19th in Telangana state is also drawing criticism from all over just like the other decisions taken by Telangana government. Anil Goswamy, the Principal Secretary of Union Home Ministry is said to be written a letter to Telangana government seeking the details, purpose and legality of the proposed survey. He writes that Centre has received several complaints from MPs over this survey.   Though, Telangana government is stating it to gather information about the social status of the people living in the state, the questions about people’s nativity in the survey form, creates suspicion among Andhra people settled in Telangana. A case also filed in the court challenging the legality of the survey. However, Telangana government is determined to go ahead with its survey on August 19th all over the state.

AP Government gearing for fresh battle over PPAs

  It was clearly mentioned in the AP Reorganization Bill-2014 that AP and Telangana states have to form their own Electricity Regulatory Commissions (ERCs) within 6 months after division of the state. Hence, both states begin the process of forming their own ERCs.   While issuing notification for formation of the ERC yesterday, AP government made it clear that it will not abide by the existing APERC instructions to continue the existing power purchase agreements (PPAs).   CM Chandrababu Naidu holds a meeting with Chief Secretary IYR Krishna rao, Ajay Jain, the Principal Secretary of Energy Ministry, K Vijayanand, the in-charge CMD of AP Transco and with AP GenCo Managing director yesterday. They have discussed the issue in depth and about the legal complications involved in it. Later, they come to a conclusion that APPRC can’t give any orders to AP government or AP government need not to obey its orders anymore after the state was divided and process for formation of separate PRC is in progress. So, they have decided to challenge its orders either in the High Court or Appellate Authority, if APPRC still stresses to implement its orders.

Prakash Raj condemns people attitude

Tollywood actor Prakash Raj had a miracle escape from a road accident on Tuesday night. A lorry has rammed his car from back and it also hits an auto rickshaw when at a traffic signal on Madhapur-Shamshabad road. However, fortunately the actor escaped unhurt in the accident. But, the parents and their 3 year baby Akshaya travelling in the auto fell on the road. Prakash Raj, who comes to their help, is quite annoyed and angry to see the people around start taking his photographs instead of helping the passengers in the Auto.   Though, he left the place quietly, later he expressed his anguish on the people through his tweeter message. He asked “Is it the way we should behave? Is this humanity? Where are we going? This incident made me realize that life is just like a bubble and how people are helpless. I could come out of the shock immediately, but shocked to see the way people behaves. Shame…shame.”   His Tweet in his own words: Had a miraculous escape as a bus rammed into us from behind at a tragic signal. Cars jammed. Family thrown out of an auto.   Chaos but.... It was terrifying to see the youngsters.. instead of saving People who were lying thrown around... They were busy taking pictures.. Shame..   More than the shock of a possible death ...I'm shaken by this inhuman attitude of people. What's happened to us.. Where are we heading...??? Realised my helplessness n the fragility of this life..   The only way is to live it as long as it lasts.Miles to go before I sleep.. Cheers  

EAMCET Counseling from Aug.14th

  Finally, EAMCET counseling process is going to start in Telangana also from 14th to 23rd August. The stalemate between two states ends after AP Higher Educational Council has agreed to conduct counseling as per the schedule proposed by Telangana Higher Education Council. Hence, notification for the counseling schedule was announced on Tuesday.   During the first day of counseling verification of certificates for the rank holders between 1 to24, 000 will be conducted. August 16th for -24 to 50 thousand rankers,17th-50-75 thousand, 18th- upto 1 lakh, 20th-1.25 lakh, 21st-1.5 lakh, 22nd-1.75 lakh and finally on 23rd rest of the students’ certificates will be verified. Counseling process will begin from 9am on August 14th. Papireddy, the Chairman of Telangana Higher Education Council has asked the students and parents to note this schedule and attend counseling at their respective areas.

T CM KCR grants Telangana Increment

  Telangana Chief Minister KCR has signed the file granting special increment-Telangana Increment to all the employees including government colleges, polytechnic colleges and universities with effect from August month. All the Telangana state government employees will get this special increment along with their current month salaries. KCR has promised to grant this Telangana increment to employees during elections campaigning and is implementing it now.
