Wikipedia Disappears Today Protesting Online Piracy Act

wikipedia Stop Online Piracy act (SOPA): Wikipedia, one of the world’s busiest websites, Wikipedia is staging a public protest today to garner support for its opposition to the anti-piracy measures proposed in the United States Congress. The site will be offline from 06:00 CET, the first time it has taken such action.   Wikipedia will be joined by other social news websites Reddit and Boing Boing but not by the likes of Facebook, Google and Twitter, who oppose the proposed laws but declined to black out. Twitter boss Dick Costolo said in a Tweet: “Closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish”. In a later Twitter exchange with Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, Costolo confirmed that he was only referring to Twitter in his previous post and was not judging Wikipedia’s decision. The giants of Silicon Valley are trying to stop the passage of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA), both of which are currently being examined by law-makers in Washington. According to supporters of the legislation, the acts are designed to prevent intellectual property – such as films and music – that comes out of the US being illegally pirated overseas. Under SOPA and PIPA, sites suspected of internet piracy could be shut down and it would become illegal for advertisers or internet providers to do business with them. Wikipedia and other SOPA critics argue that the laws are too far-reaching, violate the right to free speech and threaten the future of the internet industry. Wikipedia argues on its own site that the proposed laws would “seriously damage the free and open Internet.” The White House appears to be listening to the protests of Wikipedia. Administration officials said in a statement: “While we believe that online piracy by foreign websites is a serious problem that requires a serious legislative response, we will not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk, or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet.”

jarawa tribe extinction

Jarawa Tribe Extinction: Scientist Didn't Get Permission

Lately, the Jarawa tribe of Andaman islands is making headlines for two things. One is that, the jarawa tribe women are being exploited to entertain foreign touristsand the other one is that jarawa tribe is itself is very close to extinction. These factors have upset eminent scientist and Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi vice-chancellor Dr Lalji Singh. For several years now, Lalji Singh, who was director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad, had been trying to get permission from authorities for collecting blood samples of the Jarawas so that the tribe can be saved from extinction. "We wanted to get access to the Jarawas so that we could do something to preserve the tribe, which now has a population of less than 200. Forget permission, we did not even get response to our letters to the Union ministry of science and technology," Lalji Singh said. What Lalji Singh wants to do is collect the DNA samples of the tribe from the Andamans and preserve them for posterity. However, the samples must be brought to the laboratory within 24 hours for the preservation process to begin. For this, Lalji Singh even made arrangements at the CCMB laboratory in Hyderabad. He even tried to set up a laboratory at the Andamans itself with the help of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) so that the risk of transporting their DNA samples all the way to Hyderabad can be avoided. However, the laboratory could not be set up due to infrastructure problems, particularly uninterrupted power supply. It may be mentioned here that Lalji Singh and his team, through their research, had found that the human population spread from Africa to other parts of the world. The tribes in the Andamans - the Sentinelese and Onges - are believed to have found their way to the Andamans from Africa ages ago. In recent days, the spotlight has been on the Jarawa tribes following revelations that the tribal women were being made to dance semi-naked for the pleasure of foreign tourists. Lalji Singh said permissions from various ministries including the environment ministry, ministry for tribal welfare and the administration of the Andaman and Nicobar islands is necessary to collect blood samples or buccal swabs from the Jarawas. Once the samples are taken, scientists will immortalize their cell lines, so that the tribe can be preserved as they face the risk of extinction. Lalji Singh said he would once again approach the authorities for the required permissions.     Video Source:islandwarrior16

jagan 48 hour deeksha

Jagan 48-hour Deeksha Continues in Armoor

Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is continuing with his 48-hour Rythu Deeksha in Armoor mandal of Nizamabad district. The deeksha, which Jagan took up to highlight the problems of farmers in the Telangana region, has entered its second day on Wednesday. A large number of farmers and supporters queued up at the hunger strike camp to call on the Kadapa MP and son of late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan, as the young leader is popularly called, began his fast in Armoor town of Nizamabad district on Tuesday night, about 10 hours behind schedule. He had a smooth entry into the town despite protests by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and other pro-Telangana groups, who wanted him to support the demand for a separate Telangana state before visiting the region. Sporadic protests marked Jagan's journey from Hyderabad to Armoor. He stopped at several places in Ranga Reddy, Medak and Nizamabad districts to a rousing welcome by his supporters. Addressing people Tuesday night, Jagan criticised the Congress government for not addressing the problems of farmers. He said farmers were facing severe hardships as they were not getting remunerative prices for their produce and due to lack of financial support from the government. Police have thrown up a massive security cover around Jagan's hunger strike camp to prevent any untoward incident. Dozens of leaders and activists of TRS have already been taken into custody as a precautionary measure. This is the first visit by Jagan to Telangana region after the movement for separate statehood gathered momentum.

chandrababu telangana

Chandrababu Tour Review

Chandrababu Tour Review Story Chandrababu Naidu, an opposition leader, is a top-notch professional politician in AP. He maneuvers his operations with the help of his foe (Kikure). In one such operation, he falls into the eyes of the TRS. While fleeing from the scene, he unintentionally becomes the cause for the unconsciousness of his cadre called TTDP, a unit which is already badly bruised in 2009 elections. CBN assumes the identity of Raithu Veera and enters AP paddy fields in the name of Raithu Poru Baata all round the state to avoid TRS. The rest of the story is all about how CBN solves all the problems. Artists Performance CBN : CBN is stylish and brilliant as professional politician. He suited the profile of CBN to the tee. He lives up to his image of Astute Politician with his meticulous planning. He transformed smoothly from the character of CBN cornered by all lame parties to CBN The Leader , yet shown the variation in histrionics that come out due to CBN The leader’s guiltiness to impersonate the one cornered by TRS and YSRC . Congress : Congress is in her elements in this film with traditional gameplan and cute trademark mannerisms only possible for it. The only difference between her characters in earlier movies and this film is that the voice dubbed by Botsa is akin to a telugu saying "Reku Dabbaloo Gulaka Raallu", which is good. However, her role in this film is less compared to her past films. Other assets of her like Telangana Congress and all are covered under thick costumes and jewelery giving no scope for any exposure. If someone was expecting a generous skin show, they are disappointed. Others : KTR is perfect. Harish rao is adequate as the goon Interesting is the tension which is not open but is evident in each and every scene between them. . Kodanda rams role was brief and uninteresting. KCR's get-up and dialogue delivery is different when compared to the roles he is offered these days. We can see him very less. Only voice is used here and there. EEtela is effectively used for a comedy fight in this film. Telangana People donned the role of an old man. Frail voice dubbing by Media suited them. VijayaShanti and Motkupalli succeeded in creating good humor. Errabelli is good as loyal friend. Kikure and YS Jagan are adequate. Ghulam Nabi Azad did guest appearance as CBI's local chief. Technical Departments: Story : The thread of CBN and Kikure seem to have roots in Sylvester Stallone's Assassins. (Kikure seems to be always brooding over the fact that it was they who have given life to CBN in Politics) The thread of hero masquerading as some other person has similarities to the storyline of Varasudocchadu. These two threads are interwoven to make this story. The story of this film is entirely different from CBN's earlier films as story writer. Screenplay - direction : CBN is known for his class entertainers that are loaded with sensible humor and nice emotional quotient. He tried something different for this film. The way he opened the film with a Anantpur trip is terrific. You feel like you are watching Ram Gopal Varma's film in the first half an hour. His taking is trendy and stylish. When the scene shifts to Telangana, CBN tries to lace in his typical guileness. The screenplay of the film is not binding enough to blend these two stories (contract killer story and masquerader story). Although there is a connectivity gap between the first and second halfs. The movie slowly picked up and hit a peak just before the climax. The climax was brilliant meticulously planned and executed. You have to give it to the Hero, Director, Script Writer The one and Only CBNNNNNNN. The support from the crew of the movie should be commended. The following scenes of the film are brilliant - 1. The first shot where CBN launched his tour in Anantpur. 2. The rewinding scene in which Motkupalli stabs somebody in the build up to the climax 3. Motkupallis's bargain with KTR over Television 4. CBN telling heroine that she is being cheated. 5. CBN delivering the message to people 6. CBN’s first encounter with Nalgonda 7. CBN's tour in Medak 8. Kodanda rams comedy episode (nuts & bolts) 9. CBN's last encounter with TRS in Warangal The following scenes seem to drew inspiration from Hollywood flicks - 1. Hero jumping into Warangal from Hyderabad - US Marshals 2. Kodandam Silence in the climax – The Mime Shows The following logics are unexplained - 1. What made CBN turn into being hated in Telangana? 2. Why would Kikure help CBN although they are rivals and not in talking terms? 3. What happened to jagan in the kid's episode and why he reveals the names of his protégés in the interrogation ? 4. The people of Telangana and Seem andhra readily accepting masquerader(CBN) even without an iota of doubt. Photography : Photography of the film is terrific. The camera angles, shot framing, lighting effects and camera movements are appropriate to the respective scenes. A tint is used for the first half an hour of the film which made this film appear like the Hollywood films made with Mexican backdrop. Cinematographer Ramoji Rao deserves a pat on his back for his fine work. Fights : Fights by Chandra Dandu are excellent. All the fights in this film are powerful and natural looking. Only for the fights in climax wires and threadwork was used. Two separate fights involving KTR and Vijaya Sahnti have lots of humor injected in them. It is very difficult to make the fights appeal to Andhra Pradesh audiences when shootout (pistol) is involved. But the shootouts in this film are an exception. Dialogues : CBN is known for his bland dialogues with depth and intensity which may not appeal in the first hearing but are slow poison. This film has limited punch dialogues compared to other movies, which is understandable because of his limitations. Still, the comedy dialogues written for Kodanda ram and VijayaShanti are good. The way CBN compared the development during his regime and the anarchy and directionlessness of KCR was received well by the people. The point made by CBN regarding KCR taking the emotions of people to the peak and dropping in mid air received loud applause Music : Music by TDP is good. The picturization of the first song (title song) which comes as background song for titles is wonderful. Raithu poru baata is a teasing song between the lead pair in Road set with other artists participating in. Other songs filled the movie with soothing the tensed nerves. Other departments :. Production values by Jayabheri banner are grand. Analysis : The film opens in a bland style. Everyone wonders why anantpur. What is Raithu poru baata. The first half an hour of the film is passable. The remaining part of the first half is little boring with slow narration. The second half of the film picks up after the Title Song played in Nalgonda. It suddenly takes a violent turn from Adilabad to Warangal. It’s a roller coaster ride. The positive points of the film are CBn, CBN's taking, Ramoji’s photography, fights of Chandra Dandu and dialogues. The negative points of the film are not being able to blend in two stories well and not able to get the emotions worked out for Telangana scenes in the second half. On a whole, this film is a decent flick for class audiences. The commercial success of the film would depend on how masses embrace it. You already watched it. The Heros graph raised like anything with this movie. The Sankranti race is getting hotter with the release of Jagans Deeksha in Nizamabad scheduled for later this week.

Hyderabad New Mayor Has Seven Criminal Cases Pending

Mohd Majid Hussain, the MIM corporator from Ahmed Nagar division, is the new mayor of Greater Hyderabad. Thirty-one-year-old Mr Hussain is probably the youngest mayor in the country. His goal is to make Greater Hyderabad a truly global city in terms of civic infrastructure and standard of living even while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the city.   Incidentally, Mr Majid Hussain is an accused in seven cases, including an attempt to murder, criminal assault and intimidation. All these cases have been registered at the Humayun Nagar police station in whose jurisdiction his Ahmednagar residence is located. As per the case (crime number 38/2011) registered at the Humayun Nagar police station on January 20, 2011, Majid Hussain was booked under section 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for stopping police from conducting searches and vehicle checking at 1st Lancer . Subsequently, when Hussain approached the high court the investigation was stayed.     On February 6, 2011, a group of assailants attacked one Syed Altaf with knives and iron rods at Ist Lancer. Altaf suffered injuries in the attack and police booked an attempt to murder case (crime number 38/2011) under section 307 of the IPC against the assailants, who directly participated in the attack, and also Majid Hussain, who was suspected to be the conspirator. In this case, except Hussain, all the other accused have been arrested by the Humayun Nagar police.   Similarly, on November 4, 2011, based on the directions of a local court, the Humayun Nagar police had booked a case against Majid Hussain under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation ), 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonor a person) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The case was booked after Shaik Mannan Sayeed, a local PRP leader, approached the court with a petition alleging that local police had not responded to his complaint against the Ahmednagar corporator. The petitioner alleged that during the Rachabanda programme at Ist Lancer in 2011, Majid Hussain had abused and physically assaulted him.   Apart from these three criminal cases, police said four petty cases were booked against Hussain for creating nuisance and threatening people, including a gas agency dealer in the locality, under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, 70 - B and 71 of the Hyderabad City Police Act.
