CAG reports 94 percent funds not utilized

The Andhra Pradesh government has submitted the CAG report to the Assembly today, which raps the previous government for misuse or not utilizing the funds allocated to several departments. According to the report, finance department has spent only 56 percent funds, ITDA spent only 51 percent funds. Only 36 percent funds were spent under SC ST sub plan. In general, 94 percent of funds were not utilized by the state government departments.   It reports that the primary health care centers, medical colleges and affiliated hospitals are also not maintaining prescribed standards. There are many posts need to filled in the medical and paramedical departments. There is no progress in any irrigation projects and roads construction works in the state. State government has lost Rs.665 crores due to faulty agreements made with the private companies under PPP mode. The state government also has lost Rs.460 crores revenue due to faulty laws in the motor transport taxation.   Congress party claims that it has excellently ruled the state, but all these things reported by CAG reveals the other side of the Congress ruling. The huge losses occurred to the state government due to faulty PPP agreements is underlining the corrupt practices of the previous Congress governments. However, no one was made accountable instead they were projected as heroes or saviors of the state.   The Congress and the YSR Congress party both claims that late YS Rajashekhar Reddy has started Jalayajnam projects to help the farmers. But, the CAG reports reveal that there is no progress in any of the projects started by him. Since, the Congress and the YSR Congress parties are claiming credit for the Jalayajnam projects they should also accept the failures and corruption involved in the projects.

Rajendra Prasad hits back at Jayasudha

The Movie Artists Association Elections are taking ugly shape like any political elections as the two contestants Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha start criticizing each other like any politicians. Jayasudha triggers this fight accusing Rajendra Prasad for bringing in the politicians into the elections. She complains that some political persons are pressurizing her to quit from the contest. Rajendra Prasad hits back at her directly and very strongly.   He said “Before blaming me for politicizing these elections, she should admit that she is politician and a MP is supporting her now. I don’t need to politicize the elections, because I have full support of the industry. I think anyone who wants to contest the elections should have interest to serve the film industry and not medals or horns. I am contesting the elections only to serve the industry that gives me this name and fame. Many people in the film industry have encouraged me to contest the elections hoping that I would bring some change and improvement in the situation of the industry. Hence, I will not turn my back even if my opponents pressurize me to quit the elections. But, I have a great respect for all the members in both panels.”   “I am determined to contest the elections, but feel very sad to face my near and dear in my opposition side. I do feel my situation is resembling Arjuna in Kurukshetra, who fought with his near and dear.” Rajendra Prasad also hits at MP Murali Mohan. He said “Some people in the film industry might have earned plenty of money doing real estate businesses, but they should realize that no one can take anything with them when dies. I am sure my place is reserved in the heaven because I made the people happy with my films.”

Political parties start blame games on power tariff hike

The Congress and YSR Congress parties claim that power tariff was not increased during late YS Rajashekar Reddy’s five years regime, but Chandrababu Naidu increases the tariff within nine of assuming power in the state. However, PCC President Raghuveera Reddy admits that power tariff was increased during Kiran Kumar Reddy’s regime.   Botsa Satyanarayana said, “Chandrababu Naidu has levied Rs.10, 000 additional burden on the people with this power tariff hike. There is surplus power and Center is also supplying additional power. Yet, his government has increased the power tariff. It is not fair to put additional burden on the people in the prevailing situation.”   It is true that power tariff was not increased during late Rajashekar Reddy’s regime. But, here two points are to be noticed. If the governments do not increase the power tariff proportionately with the rising fuel costs and maintenance for years, then the burden will accumulates during the period of time. Then the successor government will have to carry the whole burden. When it tries to transfer it back to the people, obviously they will fume upon it comparing with the previous government.   Late YSR has managed to run the show for five years without increasing the tariff and he transferred the burden on to Rosaiah government. He also runs the show for one year and transferred to his successor Kiran Kumar Reddy, who was forced to transfer that whole burden back to the people. Hence, he faced ire of the people and earned bad name for it.   Second thing is having surplus power or getting power supply from the Center doesn’t mean that the power is coming at free of cost to the state government. It has to spend thousands of crores money to obtain the power supply.   The power price solely depends on its production cost, whether it is produced in the state or obtained from the other states. So, there is no meaning in arguing there is surplus power or getting sufficient power supply from the Center. However, the governments can reduce the burden on the people if take some measures like improve efficiency in power generation plants, bringing down the production costs, reduce the transmission losses, prevent power thefts and use quality equipment etc.

Jagan proves his political immaturity again?

Four days ago, Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that he will not to step into the Assembly until the no confidence notice served against Speaker Dr. Kodela Shivaprasada Rao is accepted for discussion in the house, but he returned to house along with his party MLAs today, although his notice is not taken for discussion by the house.   Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has stated “No one knows why he boycotts the Assembly and why he comes again.”   Jagan Mohan Reddy replied “I came to Assembly only to question the state government on power tariff hike. Government has increased the power tariff, ignoring the promises made to the people. It increases the power tariff even when the Center is providing 304 mw power to the state at free of cost. We understood that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his government will never lend their ears to opposition party’s suggestions. So, there is no use of giving any suggestions to the CM or to his government. So, we are staging a walk out from the house.”   Then the Assembly Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu addressing the members said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy proves that he is an immature politician. He raised some doubts about increasing the power tariff. But, even before the Chief Minister could answer his questions, he walked out of the house. No one knows why he comes in and why he is going out. He seems is very keen to make some nuisance inside and outside the Assembly. He lacks interest and knowledge on any issue. So he blames us to escape from the house.”   Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said “Jagan Mohan Reddy knows nothing about power supply and power tariff. But he tries to project himself as an expert in any subject. Jagan should know that the power supplied by the Center to the state will not come at free of cost. We have to pay Rs.5.00 to 5.50 per unit. But, Jagan is trying to bluff the people with his meaningless arguments.”

Don’t politicize MAA Elections: Jayasudha

Veteran actress Jayasudha, who is contesting for the Movie Artists Association President Post, has conducted a press meet today. She said “I am contesting these elections only after many people from the industry have promised to support me. So, I am confident of winning these elections. People are aware about my social service activities. If, I win these elections, I would like to spread my service to the film industry people also.”   “So far, only men are serving in this post. I want to prove that women are also equally capable to handle this post. But, I came to know that some politicians also are interfering in these elections, who do not want a woman to take charge of MAA. I will not succumb to their pressures. In fact, it strengthened my determination to contest the elections. I request all our industry people to keep away the politicians and politics from these elections for the sake of our film industry.”   But interestingly, Murali Mohan, the outgoing president of MAA and the TDP MP is campaigning for her. He said “Jayasudha is senior most person in the film industry. She is even senior to me and to Rajendra Prasad also. So, she deserves to be elected as MAA President.”   “Tanikella Bharani, Ali, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Naresh, Raghubabu, Charmi, Hema, Geetanjali and Shiva Parvathi are members of Jayasudha panel, whereas Rajendra Prasad is still unable to find members for his panel. So, I appeal all the people in the film industry to elect Jayasudha as MAA President,” said Murali Mohan.

Court raps T-Government over delaying GHMC Elections

The High Court has sharply reacted on a petition filed by the Forum for Good Governance over delaying the GHMC elections. The High Court has stated that if the government fails to submit the elections schedule within two weeks, then it will be forced to announce the elections schedule on its own. Actually, the Telangana government has assured the court that it will submit the elections schedule within two weeks in January this year, but fails to submit even till now. The court has served two notices to the state government during last two months, but it couldn’t get any response to its notices. Hence, the court has given another chance to the state government, probably the last chance.   Winning GHMC Elections is very essential to the ruling TRS party. Although, it takes several measures to win the elections, still it is not sure in the prevailing political equations. The TDP and the BJP have a strong hold on the GHMC area and they have already made it clear that they will jointly contest the elections. The YSRCP also can make a dent in the elections as the Andhra people settled there may split between the TDP and the YSRCP. The MIM has strong hold on the old city. The Congress party also can clinch its share of seats in the elections.   In this context, TRS can’t expect any miracles in the GHMC elections. Hence, Chief Minister KCR is reportedly planning to bifurcate or trifurcate the GHMC so that his TRS party could bag one at least from them. But, division of GHMC needs at least six months’ time to complete. However, the High Court is not ready wait till that long. If so, the TRS government is left with no other option but to face the GHMC elections, whether it is sure to win or not.

Mega Brothers…No political experiments please

Chiranjeevi and his loyal brother Nagababu held a meeting with their fans yesterday at Hyderabad. According to sources, they have discussed about the present political situation in the state and about Chiranjeevi’s movie and political careers.   Chiranjeevi is said to be regretted for joining politics. His fans have suggested him to stick to his film career rather than sticking to the politics and the Congress party. It is learnt that they have also discussed about Pawan Kalyan’s recent political activities and his political plans. However, Chiranjeevi or Nagababu have not briefed the media about their meeting.   There are wide speculations in the media that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan both may join hands and run the Janasena party. But, they both might have realized that they are unfit for the politics. Chiranjeevi returning to film industry and Pawan Kalyan’s recent political activity is underlining this bitter fact.   Chiranjeevi’s reputation was badly damaged only after entering into politics. It was damaged further with his dual role played during bifurcation of the state. The Congress party’s reputation is also badly damaged. Its future is also blink. If, Chiranjeevi clings to it any further, he also will be drowned along with it. So, it is better to jump the ship, not to board the Janasena party again, but to retain his lost glory with his films.   Even if Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan plan join hands to run the Janasena party jointly it would lead to another mega-political-disaster in their lives. Hence, any such experiment may make an irreversible damage to their reputation. Hence, it is wise to gradually distance from politics and firmly cling to their film career. Their mega-fans also will be very happy and they also can reunite again.
