Mee Kosam Grievances Portal

  Andhra Pradesh government has recently launched a web portal that will enable the common people to file their complaints or make suggestions to the government on any issue. They can also post photographs and documents related to their complaints. But, Aadhar number is mandatory for filing any complaints in this portal.   Once it is accepted, the applicant will receive an SMS message or an e-mail acknowledging the complaint. Then the complaint will be forwarded to the concerned department for immediate action. If, the problem was not resolved in a stipulated period, then automatically it will be forward to higher officials for further action. Applicants can track their complaint status in the same portal using their Aadhar number. People can avail this facility round the clock at www.meekosam.ap.gov.in.

Power reloaded for TDP with Mahanadu

Telugu Desham Party on wednesday grandly raised the curtains for 34th Mahanadu in NTR memorial school grounds which is celebrated on the eve of late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s birthday.   Addressing the people from both the states, Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu strongly criticized Congress Party over their heinous governance for 10 years which had costed the lives of 24,000 farmers. He also mentioned statistics of farmers who could not refund the agricultural loans to the banks in telugu states where it was 93 percent in A.P and 89 percent in Telangana while average of India is just 53 percent.   Mr Naidu said situations in AP were even worse in 1995 when TDP came to power, besides all these obstacles, by 2004 we could provide state with excess electricity generation capacity with our reforms in Power sector, which ultimately brought considerable growth in the economy of the state.   Mr Naidu also added that congress again ruined the state’s economy with their unruly governance between 2004-14, scarcity for water and electricity also prevailed that pushed farmers in to the losses. “ Congress failed to complete the projects especially “Jala Yagnam” despite spending 85,000 crores and also failed in the execution of welfare and development activities” he added.   Bringing out the situations post bifurcation, he said Andhra Pradesh has fallen back in all the issues with the unconstitutional division of the state, we are trying hard to get over all these hurdles with our policies, we have also set few goals to put the state in top-3 in India by 2022, no- 1 state by 2029 and best investment region in the world by the year 2050.   He also opined that friendly governance is not possible between Telugu states with no other political party, it can only happen with TDP which could look after welfare of the people equally in both the states. -Srikar.Palwai

Will KCR lend his ear to CBN's appeal for cooperation?

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in his speech given at Mahanadu meeting today, appeals his counterpart of Telangana state KCR to set aside the political rivalry and come forward to resolve the issues in an amicable way through negotiations for the sake of people and development of both states.   He said “any political is expected to fight with the government on behalf of the people when it is in opposition and is expected to serve the people when in power. TDP is playing these two different roles in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. But, it doesn’t mean that governments also quarrel with each other because their parties oppose each other politically. Let the political parties do their job and let the government work together for the development of both states. I suggest do not mix up the politics and governance.”   But, it is evident that as long as the TDP is around in the Telangana state and keep challenging the TRS party, the ruling TRS government may dislike to work together with the TDP government of AP State. Although, what Chandrababu Naidu said about political parties playing two different roles is 100 per cent correct, the political rivalry between the two parties may not let the TRS government to work together with the AP government. Chandrababu Naidu is also well aware about this fact, yet he appeals because he has faith in democratic process.

India Gets It's First Transgender Principal

Manabi Banerjee who currently works as a Bengali professor at Vivekananda Satobarshiki Mahavidyalaya is all set to become India's first transgender college principal Manabi Banerjee is assumed to head the Krishnagar Women’s College located 105 kms away from kolkatta in West Bengal from June 9.   “She has been teaching in a college for more than 20 years, and had the necessary administrative experience. She was chosen through the usual selection process,”said Dipak K. Kar, chairman of an education panel that selects college principals in the state. Welcoming the decision, Rattan Lal Hangloo, vice-chancellor of Krishnagar Women’s College affiliate Kalyani University said,   “Manabi is a fine human being, a good academician and an able administrator. We are hopeful her appointment will empower other members of the transgender community.” India’s transgender activists hailed the appointment as a proud day for a community that usually faces discrimination.   “This is a proud moment for us. It’s great that people have begun accepting transgenders. Everybody should feel proud about this decision,” said Rudrani Chettri, director of Mitr Trust, a group working for transgender rights. -Ratnakar

I never misused PMO: Dr. Manmohan Singh

  Dr. Manmohan Singh may be one among those very few persons in the UPA government, who carries a clean image despite facing allegations in coal block allocations and charge sheeted by the CBI in the same case. It is because personally he or his family or any of his relatives have not indulged in any scam or get any benefits out of any scam during his ten years of ruling. But, he let his government indulge in all sorts of corrupt practices and just kept watching them like a silent spectator. Hence, there is a mixed response about his role in corrupt practices. Hence, often he is forced to come out with explanations to some questions in this regard.   Responding to TRAI Chairman Pradip Baijal allegations that he threatens to face serious consequences if did not cooperate on 2G telecom licenses and to implicate Arun Shourie and Ratan Tata in the case,”   Dr. Manmohan Singh said “As far as I am concerned, I can say in all humility that I have not used my public office to enrich myself, to enrich my family or my friends.” He alleges that the Modi government keeps on harping on this theme of corruption because it wants to distract the attention of the people to non-issues.”   But, being former Prime Minister of the country he can’t expect his successor to spare him and his government from criticizing on corrupt practices and huge scams that takes place during his regime.

TDP to up grade to national level

  As reported earlier, TDP has presented a resolution in the Mahanadu meeting today proposing constituting of central committee, state level committees and necessary guidelines for it. The resolution was presented by party legal cell leader Kanakamedala Ravindra.   According to it, the party president will act as central committee president and he will appoint the presidents for state level committees. He will also appoint the polit-bureau members for central committee of the party, which will decide the course of its state level committees. Hence, TDP is going to elect its president Chandrababu Naidu as party central committee president after discussing about various points mentioned in the resolution. This would be the first step towards upgrading the TDP to national level. Chandrababu Naidu said that he wants to spread the party to other states also as early as possible.

Hyderabad Decks up Yellow for Mahanadu Telugu Desham Party to hold “Mahanadu” in a short while from now which would be continued for three days in NTR memorial school grounds at Gandipet. It’s going to be a very auspicious moment for the party as an important resolution elevating the regional party to national party likely to be passed.   Initially, Chandra Babu Naidu wanted Mahanadu to be held in “Amaravathi” which is capital region for Young Andhra Pradesh, later changed his decision to hold Mahanadu in Hyderabad as it would also help the party to strengthen in Telangana.   In tune with the party’s two pronged policy, the entrance at the venue will have two welcome arches. While one would depict the glory and culture of “Kakatiya rule”, the other gate would depict “Amravati” and its greatness. CM Kejriwal patch up with Lt. Governor?

  The two week-long confrontation between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung abruptly ends with the Delhi High Court’s ruling given in favour of the Chief Minister. It termed as “suspect” the Centre’s recent notification barring the ACB from acting against its officers in criminal offences and held that the LG cannot act in his discretion. It suggests the LG to co-ordinate with the Chief Minister to ensure smooth governance in Delhi.   Arvind Kejriwal government also held an emergency open-cabinet meeting in the Connaught Park on Monday. Everyone believed that it is the first sign of declaring war against the LG and the Modi government. But, the LG is surprised to see when Arvind Kejriwal accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Chief Secretary K.K. Sharma have come to meet him on Tuesday for appraising him about the High Court ruling about the powers of the ACB and his views on the issue. He also appraised the LG about the cabinet meeting held on Monday. He told the LG that he is ready to co-ordinate with him and is expecting the same from him for a smooth operation of Delhi government.   People of Delhi are appreciating Arvind Kejriwal for trying a patch up with the LG instead of continuing the battle. However, he is going to give an acid test to the Modi government very soon by putting a demand for full statehood to Delhi.

NASSCOM launches cyber security task force

National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and Data Security Council of India have launched NASSCOM Cyber Security Task Force.    The task force to be directed by Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, NIIT  aims to build India as a global hub for providing cyber security solutions, developing cyber security R&D plan and develop a skilled workforce of cyber security experts.    The task force members will include industry leaders across IT, BPM and internet, heads of user organizations like banks and telcos as well as representatives from the government and academia. Its initial goal is to identify the key priorities and build the detailed action plan for the sector over a 12week period.    NASSCOM says the vision of the task force is to build the cyber security industry in India from the 1% market share to 10% by 2025; a trained base of 1 million certified and skilled cyber security professionals and build 100+ successful security product companies from India. _Ratnakar

T-Industrial Policy to be in affect from June 7

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in a meeting with officials and minister decided to announce new indiustrial policy amidst top industrialists.   As per this policy, industries will be given a nod within the time constraint of 15 days including the allocation of land, water, and electricity after the application. He proclaimed that 1,60,000 acres of land have been allocated to the Telangana state Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.   He also ensured that there would be no delay in granting permissions to set up industries as application can be put up online and a separate cell in the CM’s office would go through applications and finalized through some discussions. -Srikar.Palwai

Raghuveera Reddy is also keen to join YSRCP?

  AP PCC President Raghuveera Reddy wrote a letter Election Commissioner today complaining against the ruling TDP government. He appeals the EC to derecognize the TDP for failing to fulfill its elections promises. The present and former PCC Presidents Raghuveera Reddy and Botsa Stayanarayana later speaking to the media have strongly criticized the ruling TDP for failing to implement its elections promises.    TDP MLC Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy sharply reacting said “Botsa Stayanarayana and Raghuveera Reddy both have lived like slaves before Jagan Mohan Reddy during late Rajashekar Reddy regime and still they are trying to impress him by criticizing our government. People are seeing what government is doing and how it is striving hard to develop the state, but the only couldn’t see it, because they do not want to open their eyes. They both seem very much worried about their future as Chandrababu Naidu is developing the state rapidly and is also building a world class capital city.”   So far, there were wide spread speculations about Botsa Stayanarayana’s efforts to join the YSR Congress Party. But, it appears Somireddy is suspecting that PCC President Raghuveera Reddy also may land in the YSR Congress Party on one day or the other in future. It is possible because, the Congress Party future is blink in the state and its situation is not at all improving despite his serious efforts. Moreover, some Congress leaders in the state are eying the PCC Chair and so they may pull down from his chair anytime.   Anyway, everyone knows that the Congress Party can’t return to power in the state for at least next 10-15 years. Hence, their ultimate destination would be the YSR Congress party only and probably that is why they are trying to please its president Jagan Mohan Reddy. If this speculation is not believed to be genuine, then they may be trying this silly idea of complaining to EC against the state government merely to catch the media attention.

Did CM KCR made self-goal on OU lands?

  It seems Telangana Chief Minister KCR has made a self-goal by throwing a challenge to Osmania University students. Whether he is serious about taking OU lands for providing housing for poor or not, his consequent statements on this issue have provoked the students.   Recently, OU students attacked Hotel Swagath Grand at Habsiguda, owned by the TRS MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy. Then next they targeted the Bharat Petrol Bunk in the same area alleging it was constructed in the OU lands. Obviously, opposition parties also singing chorus with them for their political interests, but the Chief Minister KCR has to blame himself for this unrest and unwanted developments taking place in OU now.   No surprise if OU students intensify their fight against the government as it is not reacting to their demand to revoke its decision. But, the Telangana government may be not responding because it will provide another weapon to the opposition parties. If, the government agrees to revoke its decision bowing to their fights, then the opposition parties may simply switch to other side and demand the CM to make his stand clear on his promise of providing housing to the poor. Perhaps, this is what stopping the Telangana government from reacting to the OU students’ demands.   Since, the Chief Minister KCR has ignited the sparks in the Osmania University, he has to take initiative and find a solution to this problem, otherwise if prolongs this issue any further, it may create unexpected problems to his government.

KTR returns home from US tour

Putting an end to the three weeklong tour of America, Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KTR returned to Hyderabad in the early hours of this morning.   Addressing the media, he said that he met several representatives of IT, Industry and Defense sector. Alluding to the investments, he cleared that they agreed to invest nearly 500 million dollars (apprx 3000 crore rupees in Indian currency) in Telangana. He also proclaimed that companies like Microsoft and Google are impressed with Telangana’s new industrial Policy responded positively to invest.   KTR got a blasting welcome in Shamshabad Airport amidst thousands of supporters staged a rally to the camp office. -Srikar.Palwai

Telangana Cabinet to meet today

Chief Minister K.Chandra Shekar Rao on Tuesday convened a cabinet meeting at 4pm as to contemplate on the projects to be kicked off including the celebrations for the state formation fete to be held for nearly a week.   TS government is all set to dole out a platter of goodies to the poor. The state cabinet would discuss on the length action plan for two bedroom housing project. It may be also mentioned as KCR extensively toured several bastis in Hyderabad and promised every where to start the project this year.   Other key terms listed in the agenda include regularizing the contract employees; already some of the departments have begun scrutinizing credentials of the employees. Government is also planning to issue “Pattas” for those who applied for the regularization of lands under GO-58.   The Cabinet will also take a decision on land purchase policy, which enables the revenue department to acquire small bits of lands for various purposes sans waiting for land acquisition norms that was causing inordinate delay at times. -srikar.Palwai

Amaravati Master Plan highlights

  As promised earlier, Singapore government has submitted the master plan of proposed capital city Amaravati to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday. Later, Singapore Minister Eeshwaran and Chandrababu Naidu jointly unveiled the master plan at Secretariat. Eeshwaran briefed the media about various technical points and highlight of the master plan.   1. Master plan was developed completely in accordance with Vastu. 2. Capital city will be built in 270 square KM in 7 seven sectors. 3. 155 KM of roads will be laid inside the capital city and 324 KM long connecting roads will be laid. 4. 127 KM long world class express high ways and semi express highways will be constructed in the capital city. 5. No-Motor zones will be developed in the capital city. 6. Total 27 Sq. KM is allotted for developing green network in the capital city. 7. A huge park with named as ‘Brahmasthan’ will be developed exactly in the center of the seed capital. 8. A huge cricket stadium facing River Krishna will be constructed.   Minister Eeshwaran said Amaravati city would be the most modern capital city among the cities in the world and it is designed to prosper for centuries.   Chandrababu Naidu thanked the Singapore Minister Eeshwaran for developing such a great master plan for Amaravati. He said the state government will conduct Bhoomi Puja on June 6th and will start construction activities on Dushera festival day. He is quite hopeful to complete the first phase of construction before 2019 using the latest equipment. He said the main buildings like Assembly, Secretariat, CM’s Office etc. in the seed capital will be built with the funds released by the Central government and rest in Swiss Challenge mode.

HC gives shock to Delhi Lt. Governor

  Delhi High Court, Lt. Governor, Chief Minister, IAS Officers The Delhi High Court gives a big shock to Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, who is conflicting with the Aam Admi government led by its Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal since last two weeks over the appointment of Princiapl Secretary.   Responding to a petition filed by the Delhi government, it asks the Delhi Lt. Governor to co-ordinate with the Delhi government to ensure smooth governance, instead of following the guidelines issued by the Centre regarding having control the bureaucrats. The court categorically stated that all the IAS officers serving the Delhi government, including the Anti Corruption Chief should report to the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and not to the Lt. Governor. Perhaps, this would put an end to this two week long tussel between the Delhi Chief Minister and Lt. Governor.   Arvind Kejriwal is planning to conduct a public-cabinet-meeting in Central Park in Cannut Place, New Delhi on Monday on the eve of completing 100 days in the power. He is reportedly planning to pass a resolution demanding full statehood to Delhi during this public-cabinet meeting so that it could get full support of the people of Delhi. Getting statehood to Delhi is one of the elections promises made by the AAP.

TPCC to invite Sonia for T formation day fete

TPCC is now making all efforts to regain its glory and play an effective opposition role. As Rahul’s Rythu Bharosa Yatra, which gave a big boost to the members of the party, T-congress now looking forward to rope in Sonia Ghandi on Telangana formation day.   As per reliable sources, Congress trying to organize a conference on june 2 and wanted Sonia Ghandi to deliver a key speech amidst of all the professors, civil society groups, intellectuals who fought for Telangana to discuss upon the promises on which TRS made before the elections and how the priorities changed in the last one year.   Atleast six prominent leaders, who will not be politicians, but from other fields including economists will speak on 2nd June. Congress Party expecting at least 5000–6000 members to participate in the symposium, feels that there would be no use of just indulging in blame game, but intends to be a mirror of the government and what they have done over the last one year. -Srikar.Palwai

DMK to appeal Jaya’s acquittal

DMK Chief Karunanidhi on Monday said his party would appeal against Jayalalitha’s acquittal in disproportionate assets case in a meeting held with district secretaries.   Speaking in the district secretaries meet, he is said that they would challenge Jayalalitha’s acquittal since the Supreme Court twice held that DMK has the right to be intervened in the case. He also added that both special public prosecutor BV Acharya and Karnaka’s advocate general Ravi Varma Kumar have clearly recommended to the government to appeal to the apex court.   The former Chief Minister said Acharya that if the Karnataka government did not appeal against the high court judgment, it would set a wrong precedent. The DMK leader said original complainant, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has said he would prefer an appeal. -Srikar.Palwai

Why YSRCP keep mum on special status?

  YSRCP Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, speaking at a meeting held by the students JAC at Chittoor on Monday said “If the TDP call back its two union ministers from the Modi government, then the Centre will grant special status to the state definitely. But, as long as they both continue in the Modi government, TDP government can’t pressurize the Centre on special status issue.”   TDP is continuing in the NDA government not merely to have two union ministers’ posts, but get its co-operation and funds for the state development. Similarly, Modi government is also not a minority government and depends on any party including the TDP. But, it offers union minister posts to many of its alliance partners including the TDP only to maintain good relationship with them and to make them involved in its business.   It is to be noted that YSRCP that always find fault with the TDP for failing to pressurize the Modi government never spoke harshly a word against the Modi government on any issue. If, it is honestly asking for special status to the state, it should fight with the Centre that has the authority and power to grant it, but not with the state government. But, it is fighting with the TDP government alone using this special status as a weapon against it like many other issues. It may be insisting the TDP to come out from the Modi government not to pressurize the Centre, but to have a chance to join the NDA alliance. Perhaps, that is why it always remains soft on the Modi government and hard against the TDP government.
