Six-month baby died in demolition drive in West Delhi

A six-month old baby is reportedly crushed to death in a demolition drive taken up by Railway Officials at Shakur Basti in West Delhi yesterday. However, Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu argued that the baby was died two hours before the demolition work begins. He said “Railway the land for infrastructure development. Our officials have served notices thrice asking them to vacate it but they have ignored. Our officials have taken the action after observing fresh encroachment noticed in the area.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal strongly objected officials’ barbaric act. He said “The people have been living there since last two decades. But, Railways Officials demolished their slums without providing any alternative shelter to the poor people. They not even bothered to see if there are persons inside the slums before demolishing the houses. Those who have done this are not humans. They are animals.”

Arvind Kejriwal has ordered for magisterial inquiry into this incident. He also gave a fitting reply to Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who expressed dismay for AAP workers protesting on this issue. Kejriwal said “Rahul Gandhi is still a kid. He knows nothing. His party leaders are also fails to educate him about ongoing developments.”
