AR Rahman too identifies with Amir Khan

Noted music director AR Rahman reportedly endorses Bollywood super star Amir Khan’s latest statement on growing intolerance in the country. Rahman also experienced some bitter experience some time ago. He reportedly told the media that Raza Academy has issued a ‘fatwa’ against him for composing music to an Iranian film ‘Muhammad: Messenger of God,’ which it believes will send a wrong message to the people who dislike it.

AR Rahman during his visit to NFDC Film Bazaar chit chatting with media said “Even if some people revolt, it should be classy. I think it is very poetic what people are doing rather than hitting each other. India should set an example for the whole world by strictly following Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of nonviolence for achieving any goal.”

When asked if Muslims are unsafe in the country, he said, “I am not in the state of mind to answer this question.” Hence, he also appears to be not happy with the prevailing situation in the country and supporting the scholars who are returning their awards to Centre alleging growing intolerance in the country.
