Homemade Basic Shampoo

We are learning about making homemade beauty products. Today its the shampoo's turn, a non-artificial dye, non-perfumed simple HARMLESS shampoo. This is a great shampoo for all hair types because it is gentle on hair and won't strip away the natural oils.

For 8 oz. basic shampoo:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup mild natural liquid soap ( like Dr. Bronner's or any Castile soap)
1/2 tsp light vegetable oil ( optional)
If hair is oily, the optional vegetable oil may be omitted. But if hair is dry or damaged, include it for extra softness and conditioning.

Gently stir all the ingredients together, carefully not to create any foam. Pour the mixture into a clean BPA free plastic container.
When using, shampoo as normal, and then rinse well with cool water.

Note:
1) It maynot create as much lather as the commercial shampoos do, but it washes the hair well and does no damage.
2) Because we haven't used any tearfree formula, the resulting shampoo is also a non-tearfree shampoo, hence not recommended for young children. Otherwise, if there is a tearfree Castile liquid soap available atall( which i am not aware of), please consider using it.
