Oct 10, 2026 4:50PM

Sree Vishnu’s Comrade Kalyan is gaining momentum at the box office, with the film’s positive word of mouth growing with each show. The comedy entertainer grossed over Rs. 4 crore worldwide on its opening day, including US$100K in North America. The makers held a success press meet, with Sree Vishnu and presenter Kona Venkat interacting with the media.

“We are happy that with each show the positive Word Of Mouth is growing across Telugu States. From first and second shows on Day 1, family audiences started coming to theatres and they are enjoying it, thoroughly,” Sree Vishnu said.

The actor said the team had been hoping to win over family audiences, which he believes is crucial for a comedy entertainer to sustain its run. “I have been waiting for family audiences to watch the film and as anticipated, they loved it. We are all hoping for the movie to have a long run during the holidays,” he added.

Sree Vishnu also spoke about the film’s approach, saying, “We thought that the movie will be loved by family audiences and once, they like it any movie will be a big hit. I am happy and thrilled that our movie is garnering such great reception.”

He further explained, “From first and second shows on Day 1, we saw family audiences coming to theatres and they are enjoying it with their kids. We took a very serious backdrop and tried to balance the comical approach throughout. With such a positive word of mouth, we are expecting that the movie will have a long run.”

Directed by Janakiram Marella, Comrade Kalyan is produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati, with Kona Venkat presenting it. Music is composed by Vijai Bulganin. The film’s Day 2 bookings have reportedly remained strong, with advance housefulls in several areas. The makers are hoping the positive response will translate into a sustained run through the Dasara holiday season.
