Kriti Sanon is set to explore a new genre with an out-and-out horror film backed by Maddock Films. According to industry reports, the actress has locked the project following her recent films Cocktail 2 and Tere Ishk Mein. The untitled film will mark her ninth collaboration with the production house.

Maddock Films has established a strong presence in the horror space with its horror-comedy universe, including Stree, Bhediya and Munjya. However, the upcoming project is reportedly being planned as a pure horror film, without the comedy elements that have become a trademark of the banner's supernatural entertainers. The makers are said to be mounting it on a grand scale, with further details kept under wraps.

For Kriti, the film will offer an opportunity to headline a genre she has not explored in this form before. Her association with Maddock has delivered several notable projects, including Luka Chuppi, Mimi and Bhediya. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Mimi, which also marked her previous solo lead collaboration with the production house.

With this project, Kriti and Maddock are set to reunite for another film, continuing a successful association across different genres. The film's title, director, remaining cast and release timeline are yet to be announced officially.
