The star cricketer of Indian team Sachin Tendulkar, who retires from One day international matches in December last year ,has announced retirement from cash rich IPL series. He made this announcement after his Mumbai Indians team won their maiden title defeating Chennai Super Kings team by 23 runs in the finals on yesterday.
He said “ I am quite happy with my six sessions with my team in this IPL-6 series. So far we have been thinking that our 3rd session played in the IPl was the best. But, the present session tops it. I have to wait for 21 years long period to lay my hands on World cup, but here in IPL, it takes me 6 years only. I think this is right time for me to bid good bye to IPL.”
Sachin Tendulkar’s fans will see him playing in the grounds in coming December aginst South Africa in a three-Test series. It will be his historic 200 Test match. Though, there are no pressures for his retirement from IPl series, the tainted image of the series with sopt fixing and betting might have made him announce retirement from the IPL. If, the IPL management fails to take corrective steps, many more players may distance from it in the next year with which it will lose its shine.
