Municipal poll verdict on April 9th

State election commission has very smoothly conducted the Municipal elections two days ago, but it couldn’t avert facing legal hurdles for announcing the verdict. Some petitioners with political interests have appealed the court to grant stay on counting and announcing the verdict of municipal elections, as it may show impact on the upcoming elections. However, the high court agreeing with EC arguments has given it permission for counting of votes and declaring results on 9th April. Obviously, political parties, which are not sure about winning due to prevailing conflict situation, are very much upset with the court verdict. However, they can do nothing but to welcome the court verdict. Those who lose these elections will have extreme pressure and obviously those who win have the advantage to boast themselves saying that people are with them.
