Lowest no.Voters, Highest polling Station -Anlaythu

With a height of 5,000 meters or nearly about 15,000 feet, and with the lowest number of voters who are less that 70 people, Anlaythu polling station in the picturesque Leh region in Ladakh, became the world's highest polling station in the Indian Elections of 2014 and the World. A team of seven people, including three police personnel and four polling staff and election officers have setup the voting facilities at Anlaythu as per details given by Mr Gulam Ahamed, Deputy Returning Officer of Leh, This polling station comes under the Ladakh constituency and all the arrangements were made with the help of Indian Air Force choppers from Leh. There could be 90 % voter turnout looking at the few voters in that region and it will witness a fight between BJP's Thupstan Chhewang and the Congress's Tsering Samphel who are the main contestants in the Ladakh constituency.
