Former CM Jayalalitha is now Prisoner No:4702

Jayalalitha, who until day before has ruled the state like a queen has become prisoner number: 4702 in Parappana Agrahara jail, Bangalore after the special court convicted her with 4 years jail term in connection with her disproportionate assets case.

She was given special room in the overcrowded jail. According to jail manual, she was given prisoner’s uniform but she didn’t ware it. A jail official said that she has to start work along with other prisoners and given three options. She has to work in tailoring section or can cut vegetables in the kitchen or can roll incense sticks during her imprisonment. However, neither she wears prisoner’s uniform nor choses any work option until now, said the jail officials.

She begins her Sunday with morning-walk and then takes her break-fast brought from by her party leader. Later, she read English and Tamil newspapers till afternoon. Then, she along with her other two inmates-Sasikala, has been shifted to jail hospital for health check-ups. Their lawyers are likely to file bail petitions in the state high court today.
