Jagan to Knock Supreme Court Door

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday have dismissed the bail petition of Kadapa MP and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is currently lodged in Chanchalguda jail facing charges of corruption. The CBI special court also extended his judicial remand till 18 July.

According to YSRCP leaders, Jagan is planning to approach the Supreme Court and appeal for the bail. The leaders felt that CBI allegedly arrested their leader Jagan to affect the vote bank of Jagan ahead of bypolls. The leaders are finding fault with CBI's probe and alleging Congress party's role in Jagan's arrest despite Congress stating that it had no role to play in the investigation carried out by the CBI. In fact, Jagan's lawyer Ram Jetmalani too pointed out that Jagan was arrested illegally. However, High Court agreed with the arguments of CBI counsel and quashed the bail plea of Jagan. It is to be seen now, what the apex court deems proper in this case.
