Babu discarded Ummareddy joins YSR Congress

Its official. Now, the senior leader of Telugu Desam Party and former union minister Ummareddy Venkateswarlu has finally left Telugu Desam and took the membership of Y.S.R.Congress party in the presence of its honourary president Y.S.Vijayamma. He met Jagan Mohan Reddy in Chanchalguda jail earlier in the day. Well done. But, the reasons the senior leader has been saying for coming out of the party are confusing. At one time, he said that he left the party as it had been colluding with Congress. The senior politician also said in another occasion that the TDP had insulted him by not giving the primary membership of the party for over nine months and so he joined the outfit of Jagan. But, the truth is otherwise. Only the vested interests of the 77-year-old leader have forced him to join hands with Jagan. Chandra Babu Naidu gave too much importance to Ummareddy when he was in TDP and the later had enjoyed the power too then. But, due to the born of too many vocal leaders in the party over a period of time, who can well be compared to Ummareddy, he was discarded by the party. This ultimately frustrates the agricultural scientist to find his new home in Jagan’s party. But, it is only a big doubt that he can be given due recognition in the new party too as it is already filled with too many senior leaders who have all the political skills that are required to succeed in the present political environment. The big question in the entire aspect is how better he can be accommodated in the new party.
