The 16th Parliament sessions have begun today, but adjourned to tomorrow after mourning the sudden death of Gopinath Munde, the union rural development minister, who died in a car accident yesterday. His funeral ceremony was completed a short time ago at his native Beed constituency in Maharashtra state.
Senior Congress leader Kamalnath, who has taken oath as protem speaker of Lok Sabha today morning, conducted the house proceedings today. He will administer the oath taking of newly elected members of Lok Sabha on tomorrow and day after. Later, the members will elect the new Speaker of the house on June 7th.
It is interesting to see interchange of places of Congress and BJP parties. While Narendra Modi and his cabinet ministers have occupied the ruling party seats, Sonia, Rahul and their Congress MPs have shifted opposition benches. Rahul Gandhi settled in the back benches in the 9th row, while his mother is sitting in the front row in Lok Sabha.
