Forty Seven Statues of late YSR likely to removed

Following the instructions from the state government, the Roads and Buildings department of AP state has conducted a survey in the Visakhapatnam district and found 47 statues of late YS Rajashekhar Reddy have no legal permissions and obstructing the traffic. It found total 50 statues need to be removed and 47 out of them are late YSR statues. R&B officials have observed that some of the statues were installed in the right of way on government lands some others were installed on the footpaths and even on the road dividers. They submitted a detailed report to the government and awaiting its permission for removal of the statues. There may be hundreds or thousands of statues found if a statewide survey is conducted.

However, YSR Congress leader Ambati Rambabu warned the state government not to touch late YSR Statues, otherwise be ready to face serious consequences. He argues that the state government should order for a survey of all statues that were erected during last two decades, instead of surveying the statues installed after the death of YS Rajashekhar Reddy.
