Amalapuram Ambedkar Statues Damage Mystery Solved: Police

The mystery behind damaging of Ambedkar statues in Amalapuram has been solved, claims the police. Three local teenagers Anji Babu, Dugaprasad and Srinivasulu have been arrested in this connection. The trio confessed to the crime and said that they have done it in the influence of alcohol.

East Godawari Range DIG Krishnam Raju said that the youth have resorted to destruction of the statues in the spur of the moment under influence of alcohol and no one or any particular group is not behind this incident. No political motive is behind this act by the youngmen. A criminal case under various sections of IPC has been registered against the three accused and they will be produced in the court. Since the mystery has been solved, the DIG called upon the dalit associations to stop further protests.
