The Ministry is planning to use — for radio and audio release — two types of videos of different durations where Mr. Modi has talked about the uniqueness and diversity of the various places in the country, the official said. At present, the ministry is "working on selecting the footages", the official said, adding that the campaign would be released in the next 40-45 days as the Indian 'tourism season' starts by November-end due to favourable weather as also the Christmas holidays and New Year celebrations. The official said the process of selecting the agency, which will carry out the task of running the campaign, is also under the process.

Pollution forces Delhi schools to be shut

High levels of air pollution has forced the Delhi government to take some extreme measures to bring the city air quality back to normalcy. All schools in Delhi would remain closed for three days and road-rationing could be brought back, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday. Kejriwal called an emergency meeting of his cabinet during the day as pollution levels remained alarming for the sixth day running. “We never anticipated air pollution would reach such alarming levels. We are not solely blaming crop burning,” said the chief minister. Kejriwal said that except for emergency services, generator sets will not allowed to function for next 10 days. A complete ban on burning of leaves and sprinkling of water on roads were also among the list of actions announced by the chief minister. Weekly vacuum cleaning of roads will begin from November 10, he said. Kejriwal to give Rs 1 Cr to Ex-Jawan's Family

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced Rs 1 crore financial assistance to the family of a retired soldier who killed himself demanding the OROP's implementation. Kejriwal made the announcement at Grewal's village Bamla near her where he attended the army veteran's cremation. Kejriwal quickly added that the money being given as compensation -- in line with a Delhi government policy -- was a small amount and meant to be a gesture for martyrs. DRS system for first time in Ind-Eng series

The Indian cricket board has finally agreed to employ Decision Review System for the home tests against England. Ahead of the system's debut in a test in India next week, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said referrals were always more likely on spinning tracks and that was why the review system was an essential tool for umpires.  The first Test of the five-match series between India and England is starting from November 9 and Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) is hosting it at SCA stadium Khandheri. “Decision Review System (DRS) will be implemented during the Test match in Rajkot,” Niranjan Shah, SCA honorary secretary was quoted as saying in a official press release issued by the SCA. The influential Indian board (BCCI) has long been a staunch opponent of the review system, which aims to reduce umpiring howlers by detecting edges and predicting the ball trajectory to ensure correct catch and leg-before wicket (lbw) decisions. But in a triumph for the ICC, the BCCI said it would use the review system on a trial basis to assess improvements made to the technology after having refused to allow its use in any bilateral series involving its test team in the past.

Then they tied together bedsheets to climb several walls around the jail. The break-out was planned on Diwali night, when fireworks fill the skies in thick smoke and obscure all other noise.

    IAF's C-17 Globemaster lands near Indo-China border

The Indian Air Force has landed its giant C-17 Globemaster aircraft very close to the border with China. At an elevation of 6200 ft above mean sea level, with a landing surface of only 4200 feet long, a trial landing was carried out by the mighty C-17 Globemaster aircraft on Wednesday, thereby validating its short field landing performance at high altitude. The ALG at Mechuka in the Yargyap river valley of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh had been upgraded recently. Situated along the international border, Mechuka was one of the strategic locations during the India-China war in 1962. The Air Force says such high altitude landings help in the faster transfer of men and material in rugged terrain featuring valleys and high mountain ranges that inhibit road connectivity. A series of such landing grounds have been commissioned in Ladakh and Arunachal, some of which, like Mechuka, are just seconds away by air from China.

Ratan Tata most corrupt says BJP's Swamy

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Thursday described Ratan Tata as the most corrupt chairman in the history of the Tata Group. "The most corrupt person in Tata history is Ratan Tata. He is not even a Tata, as his father was an adopted child," he said.  Speaking of ugly Tata-Mistry public spat, he said that Ratan Tata was doing a grave injustice to Cyrus Mistry. He was of the opinion that since the entire Tata Board was appreciating Cyrus Mistry’s work, only two months ago, it must have been Ratan Tata’s jealousy that prompted the sacking of Mistry. Swamy was addressing the media in Raipur, when he said that Ratan Tata has been part of major scams such as the 2G scam, Air Asia scam, the Jaguar deal and the Vistara partnership scam among others. Mistry, who was removed by the Board of Directors,  had written that letter to defend his decisions taken during his period as the Group Chairman and also highlighted the problems he inherited.

Rahul Dravid behind Hardik Pandya's success

All-rounder Hardik Pandya said that India A coach Rahul Dravid’s guidance during the Australia tour has made him “mentally stronger”. "For me, everything changed after my tour of Australia with the India A team. It is a tour that transformed me as a cricketer. I can’t but thank Rahul Dravid enough for his contribution. I understood that there is a mental aspect about the game that needs to be worked upon. He (Dravid) made me mentally stronger.", he said. “I don't think I have learnt more than what I did during those one and half months under Rahul sir. He would tell me about things that I need to try out. I was mentally strong but after interacting with him, I understood that I could get even better. If my bowling is being talked about today, it's because of Rahul sir and Paras Mhambrey (India A bowling coach),” added Pandya. India A bowling coach Mhambrey also echoed Pandya's sentiments. "Since me and Rahul go back a long way, it was easy to share the workload regarding Hardik. Rahul focussed on the mental aspect and he gave me a freehand in dealing with the technical aspect of his bowling," Mhambrey said.
