Special Status Row: Police Arrests Protestors

Protests for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh have been launched by some of the student organization groups at several places in Andhra Pradesh. However, the Police obstructed their move, by arresting them. The Vizag city police imposed section 144 of CrpC. Parents received SMS to restrict their children from participating in the silent protest. Police heavily deployed at the beach and took complete control of the beach surroundings. In Tirupati, police arrested 30 students at the premises of SV University. The Students warned the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu saying that they will achieve the Special Status at any cost.

Pawan’s New Take: Battle Of Andhras

State Government is not giving permission for silence protests in Vizag on January 26th and the following dates. While Republic Day celebrations will be held on the day, ‘The Partnership Summit’ to occur for three days begins the very next day.   In detail- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, is organizing 23rd edition of the Partnership Summit, from 27-29 January 2017 at APIIC Ground, Harbour Park, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.   Jana Sena Party President announced his next move, if state and central government stops the peaceful protest. He calls it- Battle of Andhras.   “If Central Govt and State Govt stop the peaceful protest tomorrow, then be prepared for a long drawn "Battle of Andhras" for their rights. Jana Sena knows, when to cooperate and when to confront with Govt for people. Jana Sena salutes Jallikattu warriors for their inspiration to AP Damands special status, Battle of Andhras.”   Seems like, State Govt will not give permission for the protest. Let’s wait and see what Pawan Kalyan will direct the youth to do on Republic Day and next days for special status. Though Pawan announced his next take- ‘Battle of Andhras’, he hasn’t described anything about it!

Padma Awards Winners List For 2017

The Centre today announced the list of Padma awardees. Among the huge list of 1,730 nominations the Centre has shortlisted 150 recipients for the prestigious award. The award ceremony will be held on the 68th Republic Day. There’s also a buzz that the India’s highest civilian award the ‘Bharat Ratna’ will not be awarded in 2017.

Pawan To Surprise Protestors In Vizag

Peaceful protests with a demand of special status to Andhra Pradesh commences from tomorrow in Vizag. Power Star Pawan Kalyan is supporting the youth released an audio album to enthuse them. The Jana Sena Party chief has ordered party workers to take part in the protests.   Pawan Kalyan is regularly posting tweets to support the non-violent protests. He said, “Youth Protest' is apolitical. It's citizens right to protest when they were denied for what they had been promised. If they don't allow it now; you are creating unrest in them. Peaceful protest is their right.”   As per reliable sources, Pawan Kalyan is planning to take part in protests on 27th in Vizag. Since he doesn’t want to create any inconvenience, he will visit the place silently without informing to anyone. It may create ruckus if people come there in huge numbers to watch him.   Apparently, Pawan Kalyan wants to get as much mileage as he could derive for his Jana Sena party from this protest. AS we all know, Jana Sena will take part in next general elections to happen in 2019.

Dhoni To Receive Padma Bhushan

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led the Indian Cricket team to two World Cups, will be conferred with the Padma Bhushan award on Republic Day at the Rashtrapati Bhavan as the government of India cleared his name in the sports category. Dhoni is country’s most successful skipper across all three formats had led India in 60 Tests, winning a record 27 of them.   Dhoni’s name for the award was recommended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Dhoni previously won the Padma Shri in 2009. In 2007, he was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the Sports Ministry.   Dhoni will receive the Padma Bhushan award along with Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu and chief national badminton coach, Pullela Gopichand.

Court Served Summons To Mahesh Babu

Koratala Siva directed Srimanthudu is most memorable film for superstar Mahesh Babu since it ended as one of biggest blockbusters in Tollywood and provided several awards to the actor. Now, the same film is providing troubles to Mahesh and Koratala. A novelist named Sarath Chandra post release of Srimanthudu alleged that, director Koratala Siva had lifted the entire plot of his novel- Chachentha Prema, which was published in a leading Telugu weekly a few years ago. Sarath Chandra went on to file a complaint under the section 120B of the IPC. The first Additional Metropolitan Judge in Nampally, Hyderabad summoned Mahesh, Koratala Siva and the producers at Mythri Movie Makers yesterday. All the accused will have to appear before the court for a hearing. It may be mentioned here that, Sarath Chandra in the past got an injunction order against Srimanthudu’s Bollywood remake, allegedly featuring Hrithik Roshan.

Protest for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh is public protest to be held at RK Beach in Vizag on January 26th, invoking massive protests against the ban on Jallikattu at Chennai’s Marina Beach in neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. In fact, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan influenced youth of the state to take the decision. He has been well supported by young heroes from his family and also other heroes in Tollywood. However, it is yet not clear whether Pawan Kalyan will directly take part in the protests by going Vizag or not!

Shocker: Pranab Rejects Govt Recommendations

Pranab Mukherjee is going to be the first-ever president to emphasize his powers with regard to the government, by rejecting its recommendations while considering mercy petitions of death-row convicts. Pranab, whose term completes in the middle of this year, has on January 1, commuted the death sentences of four convicts, to life imprisonment, in the Bara massacre case. They are Krishna Mochi, Nanhe Lal Mochi, Bir Kuer Paswan and Dharmendra Singh. In the Bara massacre, which took place in 1992, 34 upper-caste Bhumihars were killed allegedly by the activists of the Maoist Communist Centre, now CPI-Maoist, to avenge an earlier massacre of Dalits by the Bhumihars. Three of the four convicts who were sentenced to death in the case are Dalits.

Trump To Speak With Modi Today

USA New President Donald Trump will speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight over phone. "The President speaks with Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi," the White House said as it released Trump's schedule for today. Trump is scheduled to speak with Modi over phone at 1 PM Washington DC time, which is 11:30 PM IST.  With this Modi, would be the fifth foreign leader Trump would have spoken with over phone after being sworn-in as the US President on January 20. On January 21, Trump spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican Premier Pena Nieto.  On Sunday, Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and yesterday he had a telephonic conversation with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.  After Trump surprised the world with his historic victory in the November 8 general elections, Modi was among the first five world leaders to have congratulated Trump.  During his gruelling election campaign, India is among the few countries in addition to Israel with whom Trump spoke of strengthening ties if elected to power. 

No Flags Please, Request Youth

Taking cues from the Tamils for ‘Jallikattu’ and their victory, AP youth called for AP demands Special Status protest. As we reported earlier, youth of Andhra Pradesh has called for a protest at RK Beach, Vizag, on 26 January demanding Special Status for the state.  Film actor and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan announced his support to Andhra Pradesh youth for their AP Special Status Protest. Jayaprakash Narayan, Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy and other Tollywood Celebrities tweeted supporting the protest. One request from the youth who are about to protest at RK beach seeking special status for the state is no party leaders or activists should bring any flags (party flags) to the beach, as they don’t want to politicize the issue. Usually, for protests like these, opposition party leaders or workers hold their party flags in their hands, to take credit of a movement. Thus, the youth request political leaders not to pollute the matter. Let’s see whether political leaders will listen to this plea!

Ind Vs Eng T20 Series: Ashwin, Jadeja Rested

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are key bowlers of India who played vital role in Virat Kohli-led team winning few tournaments against top teams. These top spinners of India who were playing continuously without much break are given rest. The two will not be playing in India’s Twenty20 series with England team. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra and off-break bowler Parvez Rasool were picked as replacements for the series beginning on Thursday. India will play three T20Is against England on 26 January (Kanpur), 29 January (Nagpur) and 1 February (Bangalore). The 34-year-old Mishra last played against New Zealand in October, when he finished with figures of 5 for 18 in the fifth and final ODI. He was in the squad for the three-match ODI series against England but didn't get a game. Rasool, the offspinner, who played his only ODI in 2014 and hasn't played a T20I to date, was selected on the basis of his impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy.

Trump Trolled For Misspelling In Twitter

Donald Trump has misspelled the word ‘honour’ in one of his first tweets as US President, inducing both amused and critical responses from netizens. “I am honered to serve you, the great American People, as your 45th President of the United States!” Tweeted Trump shortly after assuming office. Instead of using the US spelling of ‘honored’ or even the British spelling ‘honoured’, Trump decided to spell it in a completely incorrect way. The tweet was quickly deleted and re-posted with the correct spelling, but not before a number of people had replied querying the President’s spelling. Here are few tweets trolled Trump: “Good grief. Four more years of this.”  “the most illiterate president ever”. “Its kinda fitting that he doesn’t know how to spell “honor” lol.”

Hyd Will No Longer Get Manjira Water

Telangana government is now tapping Manjira water for its warship programme 'Mission Bhagiratha' and supply drinking water to Sangareddy and nearby districts. Thus, Hyderabad will no longer get Manjira water and the residents of Greater Hyderabad will have to depend on other sources. Twin cities have used Manjira water for nearly five decades. In 2014 itself, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had stated that Manjira water would be utilized exclusively for irrigation and drinking water purposes after completion of the Krishna phase-III and Godavari phase-I projects. With these two projects completed, the CM reportedly gave instructions to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) in December last to stop Manjira supplies to the city permanently. As a result, the city residents would now have to completely depend on Krishna and Godavari water.

Jallikattu Row: Lawrence Message To Youth

Choreographer-actor-director Raghava Lawrence had regularly visited Marina beach to join the protest alongside youngsters and students for amending PCA to make Jallikattu legal again. He was intermittently shifted to hospital due to his ill health; he was denied access by the police when he tried to get back to Marina today. Visibly shaken Lawrence moved to tears has released a video advising the youth at Marina to not get into the water. In the video he said, "When I decided to get back to the beach from the hospital earlier this morning, I received a phone call from Marina saying, the protesters are being forced to leave the place. A few people and I decided to move this issue to the next level with the help of a lawyer by today morning, but the situation seems to be worse now.  When I switched on the TV, I was clueless on what was happening over there. It was turmoil all over. After seeing all these, I went to Marina, but I was not allowed to enter. I begged to the Police to allow me. I assured them that my boys (students) would listen if I speak to them. Unfortunately, I was not allowed.   But I kindly request all my boys not to enter into the beach water, as our life is very important. If you have any small kids with you, please take good care of them. If the police are beating you up, please move away and stand aside. Don't be scared.  I'll somehow manage to come to beach within an hour." Meanwhile, Marina Beach resembled a wrestling zone on Monday, with police forcibly evicting Jallikattu protesters who put up a spirited resistance against security personnel. Police resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas at some places in the Tamil Nadu capital to disperse demonstrators.

Saina Wins Gold

Indian ace badminton player Saina Nehwal won gold dal at Malaysia Masters Grand Prix with a hard-fought victory in the summit clash here on Sunday. Up against Thai Pornpawee Chochuwong, the top-seeded London Olympics bronze-medalist triumphed 22-20 22-20 in a 46-minute clash. The 26-year-old world No.10, who had been desperately looking for a title that boosts her confidence after recovering from a knee surgery last year, was squaring off against a rival ranked more than 50 places below her at 67th. This was Saina’s 23rd title overall and the first after last year's Australian Open. The two were meeting for the first time in the circuit and Saina was on the back foot in the opening game when Chochuwong reeled off four consecutive points to grab the early initiative. But, she could manage to win the set. She fought hard to win the second set.

2 Died In Jallikatti Event In TN

Jallikattu, the traditional bull-taming festival was held in some parts of Tamil Nadu today, even though locals in Madurai's Alanganallur, where Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was expected to inaugurate the event, refused to hold the sport, demanding a 'permanent solution'.  The state had passed an Ordinance or an executive order -- which expires in six months -- that allows the sport this year. Thousands are continuing the protest in Chennai's Marina Beach. Unfortunately, two men died in a Jallikattu event in Pudukottai on Sunday. The two men, who were injured while holding on to a bucking bull, died on the way to the hospital. The Jallikattu events were held after week-long state-wide protests by students and youths and followed the promulgation of an ordinance by the Tamil Nadu government amending the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act to hold Jallikatttu. The sport was banned by the Supreme Court in May 2014.

Mohan Babu Joins With Pawan, Mahesh

Buzz is that, Mohan Babu will soon join TDP to enter direct politics. Though he was an active member in TDP long ago, he maintained distance all these years due to reasons best known to him. Reports suggested some time ago that, he may join BJP or Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party, Mohan Babu neither accepted nor condemned the reports. But, as per latest reports, he is keen on joining TDP. Coming to the actual point, Mohan Babu has joined the list of Telugu actors supporting Jallikattu. As we all know, Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu were the first Telugu actors to support Jallikattu. Meanwhile, Mohan Babu has all praises for Tamils who are doing peaceful protests with a sole aim of lifting ban on Jallikattu. “Not just India, but the whole world should recognize the power of the common man through the protests happening in Chennai. #jallikattu. Hats off to my Tamil brothers & sisters for showing how a protest is to be done.The world should take a leaf out of their book #jallikattu. #jallikattu is a tradition.And we Indians take pride in our tradition.To err is human; I hope the powers in Delhi understand this & resolve. Off late, each party has its own news channel or newspaper to back their own party and also to promote good-things done by the party leaders. Media usually covers a matter if it has potential to be sensational. As days pass on, when new issues arise, media keeps aside the previous subjects. Universal hero Kamal Haasan also has similar opinion on media. He moves to tears with youth of Tamil Nadu protesting to life ban on Jallikattu. Trump Targets Obamacare

United States 45th President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at “minimising the economic burden” of Obamacare “pending repeal,” to make good on one of his most impassioned campaign promises of dismantling his predecessor’s healthcare law. The order says “It is the policy of my administration to seek the prompt repeal” of the law. Moving into the Oval Office soon after his inaugural parade concluded, Mr. Trump signed the order on Affordable Care Act directing “the departments and agencies to ease the burden of Obamacare as we transition to repeal and replace,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters. The order was titled “Minimising the economic burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act pending repeal”. The White House did not provide details about which aspects of the law Mr. Trump wanted to target through this order.
