Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who resumed his odarpu yatra in Guntur district, had to face an unhappy situation in this district on Wednesday night.

Jagan Mohan Reddy reached Mutluru village under Vatticherukuru mandal at around 10 PM and started addressing the people from a dais erected there. Suddenly, some miscreants on top of an adjacent house started hurling eggs on him. Some eggs hit Jagan who was shocked at the development. There was commotion and tension mounted, forcing the police to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.

Some people who were not connected with the incident were injured in the lathi charge. They protested saying that the police, instead of catching those who hurled eggs, had beaten them up unnecessarily. Jagan has camped in the village for the night after the public meeting. Victims went to the place and expressed their protest over police beating them unnecessarily.
