Jagan Camp MLAs in Dilemma Over TDP No-confidence Motion

The Jagan camp MLAs are in a dilemma whether to support Chandrababu Naidu's noconfidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government or not. Though their leader YS Jagan Mohan had instructed them to support the no-trust move, the MLAs feel that Naidu is not really intending to bring down the government.
In a move to signal the seriousness of his intent to bring down the government, Jagan said in Guntur Wednesday night that his MLAs would support Naidu’s motion regardless of how serious the latter is. Jagan convened a meeting of the MLAs in Hyderabad at the residence of MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and asked them to support the noconfidence move. But most of the J camp MLAs, sources said, have not given firm commitments that they would indeed abide by his fiat. Though YSRC leaders claim that not less than 22 MLAs are in their camp, observers say not more than eight of them will vote for the no-trust motion.
According to sources, only nine MLAs Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Amarnath Reddy, Golla Babu Rao, Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy, G Srikanth, Gurunath Reddy, K Srivinasulu, B Sivaprasad and Balineni Srinivasa Reddy attended the meeting. When Jagan asked them to support Naidu’s no-trust move, some MLAs are said to have argued that since Naidu does not really intend to bring down the government, supporting the motion would only invite disqualification. But Jagan reportedly insisted that the motion be supported lest people think they have an understanding with Congress. However after the meet, Subhash Chandra Bose said all MLAs in the J camp would support the no-trust motion though they doubt Naidu’s sincerity about pulling down the government.
