Venkaiah Naidu about Centre's intervention

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is known for his excellent communication skills in the BJP. However, he creates some confusion on ‘special status’ issue and now on the Centre’s interference in the ongoing disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.

He said “The Centre will take initiative only if both states ask it to interfere in any issue otherwise Centre will not interfere in any matter.”

But, it is Attorney General of India Mukul Rohtgi, who said to be suggested the Home Ministry that Governor Narasimhan can exercise his powers invoking Section: 8 of the AP Reorganization Act, with which a fresh battle was triggered between the two states.

Venkaiah Naidu may be said like that to convince the people of both states that the Centre is playing neutral role and not supporting its alliance partner TDP or the TRS government in the disputes.
