No Double Standards please: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Minister for Urban Development has come heavily on human right activists who are spitting fire on the AP and Telangana governments for the recent encounters.
“Several policemen, forest officers, home guards and innocent people were killed by the terrorists and smugglers, but then none of these human rights activists have raised voice against them. But now, they are making hue and cry over the encounters of smugglers and terrorists. They should remember that the police and forest officials are also human beings and they also have families like any others. If so, why the human rights activists have never concerned when they were killed by the smugglers and terrorists? They should not maintain double standards on protecting human rights. Andhra and Telangana governments have done their job for the sake of the states and the people. They deserve appreciation not criticism,” said Venkaiah Naidu to media.
His strong support to the AP and the Telangana state governments would give a great relief to them in the prevailing situation. It may make the opposition parties also calm down on this specific issue. But, it may rage the MIM and the political parties in the Tamilnadu state, which are desperately trying to gain some political mileage out of this encounter issue. Especially, MIM that is demanding for a probe into the encounter of dreaded terrorist Vikaruddin may grab his statement to rake sentiments in the Muslim community keeping in view of the GHMC elections.
