People rob cots from Rahul's UP rally again

In yet another embarrassment for the congress party and especially its Uttar Pradesh unit, people robbed cots from Congress Vice President's khat sabha again. On Wednesday, the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed the people of Mirzapur through a Khaat Sabha, which however, turned like his previous meet in Deoria and Ambedkar nagar. As soon as the address was over, people started running away with the cots, in spite of the announcement discouraging them to do so. The organisers of his campaign seemed to have learnt little after the Deoria incident.
They still kept cots for the farmers, however, anticipating similar khat-loot, announcements of "khaat chodke chale jao (Leave without taking the cots)" were made, but none cared for it but went ahead with taking away the cots. Rahul Gandhi is currently on a Kisan Yatra, a farmers' rally, across Uttar Pradesh in an attempt to reinvigorate the local Congress workers in the run-up to the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
UP is a politically important state, where the Congress has lost its way as the landscape is dominated by regional parties like the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party and the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party. While addressing the supporters Rahul took potshots at Akhilesh Yadav on the ongoing family rift which has now become a matter of public discussion. Rahul said that, before the elections Akhilesh Yadav wants to mend his cycle which is not possible now.
