Normally, print and electronic media cook stories on celebrities and political developments. But, this time a leading news paper has cooked a spicy story on another leading news channel. The Hindu Business line has come-up with a story stating Sun TV Network is taking over the leading TV9 News channel very soon.
One wonders with the reports, whether the TV9 is going for further expansion into other areas or landed in financial problems. The report spreads like wildfire and created sensation in the media because the latter is one of the most popular electronic media network in India airing news in several languages simultaneously.
Shocked with the reports, the CEO of TV9 channel, Ravi Prakash has condemned the reports as mere rumors and said no such thing is taking place. Therefore, he slaps a legal notice to the Hindu Business line management asking to condemn its report and also tender an unconditional apology for spreading gobbles against his network or else face defamation case worth Rs.150 crores. The notices were served to the HBL management on Tuesday.
