BJP Telangana state president Kishan Reddy alleges that the TRS government has intentionally asked Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to postpone his proposed visit to Warangal taking excuse of Chief Minister KCR’s China visit. Minister Gadkari was set to visit Telangana on September 5th to lay the foundation stone for the widening of the Yadagirigutta and Warangal highway and to inaugurate a bridge at Eturinagaaram.
He said the TRS government wrote a letter asking him to postpone his visit to Warangal keeping in view of busy schedule of Chief Minister KCR ahead of his China tour. But, Kishan Reddy argues that TRS government doesn’t want Minister Gadkari to launch any development activities ahead of Warangal bye-elections. The highway widening works is expected to be carried out by the government of India with an estimated cost of Rs. 1, 900 crores. TRS fearing that if the works begin ahead of the bye-elections then it may influence the people of the district. Hence, the TRS Government made the Union Minister postpone his visit to Warangal. But, holding or prolonging development activities with any kind of political motivations is mere injustice to the people, opined Kishan Reddy.
