The infighting in Telugu Desam Party over T-issue has come out in open with its senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy shooting out a letter to the party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu. In his letter Nagam demanded that the party write to Union home minister P Chidamabaram stating its stand on bifurcation of the state.
Taking strong objection to this, the TDP Telangana forum which met at the party headquarters, not only condemned the attitude of Nagam but also decided to submit a written recommendation to the party president urging him to take disciplinary action against him. A senior leader, who did not want to be identified, said there was a strong suspicion in party circles that Nagam would switch sides to YSR Congress and all his acts were aimed at promoting the new outfit which he along with two others may join soon. He also alleged that the family members of Nagam were executing some contract works for Jagan.
However, the party spokesperson A Revanth Reddy challenged Nagam to prove that TDP was anti-Telangana. "TDP had not only shown great concern for the development of the region when it was in power but it also passed a resolution at the party Mahanadu in 2008 supporting separate T state and would vote for it in the assembly when a Bill was introduced," he claimed. The TDP is planning to organise 'Telangana Ranabheri' on May 25 at Karimnagar in support of Telangana agitation.
