Several Congress leaders from Jaggaiahpet constituency in Krishna district alongwith former chief whip of the party Samineni Udayabhau joined the YSR Congress Party yesterday. Two ZPTCs, two mandal parishad presidents, chiefs of 23 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and hundreds of party leaders were present at the meeting yesterday and endorsed Udayabhanu's decision to join the YSR Congress.
Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal was holding back Udayabhanu till now from joining YSR party. With Jagan and his mother Vijayamma winning the bypolls, Bhanu snapped the ties with Congress last week and met Jagan at the latter's Rythu Deeksha in Guntur. Though Rajagopal deputed his personal secretary Satyaprasad to Nandigama constituency on Saturday and made a last-ditch attempts to stop Bhanu and other leaders from joining the YSR Congress, but failed in holding them back.
