Sri Lanka defeated, Sangakkara, Jayavardhane retires

Sri Lanka’s star players Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene have declared their retirement today. Sangakkara declares he is retiring from One Day International matches and Jayawardeneis retiring from international cricket matches. They have made this announcement after their team was defeated by south Africa at Sydney today.
Kumar Sangakkara has played total 404 ODIs. He scored total 14, 234 runs in his career including 25 centuries and 93 half-centuries in his career. His highest score is 169 runs and average score is 41.98 runs.
Mahela Jayawardene has played 448 ODIs. He scored total 12, 650 runs including 19 centuries and 77 half-centuries in his career. People of Sri Lanka are very upset to see their team failure at this stage and their star cricketers’ retirement on the same day today.
Sachin Tendulkar reacting on their retirement said, “It is very difficult to image Sri Lankan team without them. They not only represented their country in the cricket world, but also proved their mettle. I am feeling very sad to miss them.”
