Three Mega Convention Centers to be set up in the AP

Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government has declared that it will set up three mega convention centers one each at Vizag, Vijayawada and Tirupati with a seating capacity of 8-10 thousands. These convention centers will have a five star hotel, exhibition halls, shopping complex-cum-multiplex and many other facilities. These three convention centers will be built under design, finance, build, operate and transfer basis. State government will invest in form of lands for these centers.
The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (Incap), the nodal agency of AP government has received “expression of interests” (EoI) from 19 companies including one from Malaysia. This is underlining a point that the AP State is still remains a favorite destination to the investors despite its odd situation. The works will be allotted in a competitive bidding route, said Ajay Jain, secretary of energy and infrastructure departments. He said “We have also invited EoIs for developing Bhavanapadu seaport in Srikakulam district and also for setting up of international schools in Visakhapatnam, Nellore and Tirupati.
