Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently visiting Sri Lanka, speaks in the parliament today. He reminds the members of the house that India and Sri Lanka have relationship ever since Ramayana period. So, the relations should be preserved and both countries should put efforts for it. He said India always wants good and strong relations with Sri Lanka. He reminds the members that he welcomed all the leaders of south Asian countries for his swearing in ceremony to highlight the point that his government wants to strengthen relations with them. He proposed the Sri Lanka government to come forward for strengthening bilateral and economic relations with India. He congratulates the country for eliminating terrorism from the country.
His proposals for strengthening bilateral and economic relations between two countries should be welcomed. But, can the people of Tamilnadu or any human rights activists welcome his statement congratulating Sri Lanka government for eliminating terrorism from the country, in which thousands of innocent children, women and elderly people brutally killed by the Sri Lankan army? Probably, political parties of Tamilnadu may sharply react to his statement very soon.
