Change in Bihar Political Equations

The political equations in Bihar state have suddenly changed after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar quits owing moral responsibility to his party defeat in the Loksabha elections held recently. Soon after he quits, his enemy Laloo Prasad Yadav, who until then is fighting with his government by tooth and nail, has offered an unconditional support to it, thus leaving everyone surprised. Political analysts are saying that his move is intended to create rift within ruling JDU party and not to keep it afloat. However, Laloo says that he is offering his party support to JDU to prevent communal forces (BJP) the power in Bihar.
However, he has some other intentions also in extending support to his rival party. After defeated by BJP in Loksabha elections, he plans to send his wife Rabridevi to Rajya Sabha. Since his party lacks sufficient MLAs to support her candidature, Laloo plans to take JDU MLAs support. So, he has offered (un)conditional support to JDU government. But, the latest development is Nitish Kumar and JDU president Sharad Yadav both are planning to shift to Rajya Sabha. If so, JDU may not be able to extend its support to Rabridevi to grab a seat in Rajya Sabha. So, Laloo’s support to JDU government is also may not continue for a long. He may withdraw his party support to it any time.
