Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, known for his vociferous statements against Telangana issue, once again comes out heavily on the proposed all party meeting to be held on 28th of this month.
Speaking at a meeting attended by all Samaikyanahdra forums at Vijayawada on Saturday, has said “Even though some groups have been agitating for bifurcation of the state and bowing to their pressure our Congress party has convened an all party meeting to discuss the issue, we shouldn’t take step back on our Samaikyandhra fight. I demand my party to let us voice our views on the issue in the meeting. About 65% people in Telangana and 90% in rest of Andhra are opposing the bifurcation. Only a handful of people, with personal goals are demanding for the separate Telangana. Hence, we should fight out such people and keep the state united forever. Hyderabad is not the own property of those who running the agitations. It is the property of all the people of the state.”
Even though, it is a trademark of Lagadapati speeches on this issue, the timing of it surely intended to pressurize the party high command. He hints that in case if the party is going to take any favorable step towards bifurcation, he will not hesitate to encourage the Samaikyandhra agitations again. Another disgruntled Congress MP from Eluru Kavuri has also told that he would like the party to give him a chance to represent the views of the people fighting for Samaikyandhra state.
All these statements and remarks being made by the Congress party leaders during the last 3 days might be igniting sparks in the state political circles, but at the same time they also spells what could be the idea of convening the all party meeting on the Telangana issue and how did they want to shape it up to meet the prevailing situation in the state.
