Kamal Hassan has told the media that film ‘Viswaroopam’ acted and directed by him is own property and hence no one else can dictate terms to him on how and when to release it. He said “Earlier, when the Satellite rights were introduced many have raised doubts and objections for it, but later it was widely accepted and become part and parcel of our film industry. The same way, when I plan to release my film ‘Viswaroopam’ through DTH, people found fault with it. I believe it is quite natural that every new idea has to meet with this kind of negative attitude. But, if is proved to be success then people would love to adopt it. So, I am not worried about the objections. I have made some proposals to film distributors hoping to respond positively. I will decide on my own when to release my film. I will not succumb to external pressures. I will release my film on DTH without any hesitation, come one agrees for it or not,” said Kamal Hassan.
According to sources, still he is hopeful to release his film as per schedule that is on 10th on small screens through DTH and on 11th on big screens. However, he realized that there is possibility of screening the film in public places, which can be commercialized. Hence, clarifying further he said that the DTH subscription is only meant for home viewing and will not be allowed for public viewing at hotels and shopping malls. If any one found screening in public places will be dealt accordingly assured Kamal Hassan.
