It seems bifurcation of the High Court may not take much time as the Telangana government takes initiative for it. It passed a resolution yesterday in its Assembly recommending the central government to form a separate High Court for the state. CM KCR met Kalyan Sen Gupta, the Chief Justice of the High Court yesterday and discussed this matter with him. He also sent a delegation to New Delhi today led by A Santosh Reddy, the principle secretary of Law Ministry of the state. Telangana Lawyers JAC chairman M Rajendar Reddy, Nampalli Court Bar Association President K Konda Reddy, City Civil Courts’ Association President Jagat Pal Reddy and some others are in this delegation. They will submit a letter to the Union Law Minister Sadananda Gouda, expressing state government’s readiness to provide necessary infrastructure for the High Court.
Earlier, Law Minister Sadananda Gouda has promised the state government that he will arrange a separate High Court to the state within two months, if the state government provides necessary infrastructure for it. He said that if the AP and Telangana states do not have any objections, his government is ready to divide the High Court. But, the Telangana government has not consulted the AP government in this regard till now. However, if the Center, Supreme Court and Telangana government agrees to divide the High Court, then the AP government also may not intervene in it.
