Hyderabad: The new Andhra Pradesh Congress President, Botsa Satyanarayana, today met Praja Rajyam President Chiranjeevi. "I have come here to urge him that we should be partners in efforts to strengthen party and the leadership of Sonia Gandhi," he told reporters here. Satyanarayana, who has met several senior leaders since his appointment as the PCC President a couple of days ago, was accompanied by some State Ministers. Chiranjeevi expressed confidence that Satyanarayana would be successful in strengthening the ruling party.
The filmstar-turned-politician said the merger of his three-year-old outfit Praja Rajyam with Congress is only a formality now as the necessary work has almost been completed. Asked about the proposed public meeting to announce the merger, he said it would be known in another 15 days. Chiranjeevi and the Praja Rajyam leaders had met Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, in-charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh, in Delhi recently. Meanwhile, Satyanarayana, who is also Transport Minister, would assume charge as PCC President on June 11
