Tianjin University in China has started a new unique course. And it has to do with everything related to the magical four letter word - Love! The Chinese university tutor Xie Shu's "Theory and Practice of Romantic Relations" course at Tianjin University includes lectures on self presentation, pick-up techniques, and how to attract the opposite gender and to fall in love. Tianjin is China’s first university to integrate such a course into its curriculum, giving students credit towards their degrees for attending. According to reports this has seemed out of China's policy of having only one child. wherein the generation of only children lack relationships with people their own age.
They say a boy who has a sister might have a better understanding of how to interact with a girl. The tutor while taking the class also gives valuable advise on how to start and maintain a relationship. He advices the class, "Be courteous. Serve the girl before yourself. But don’t go overboard, either". For many parents, the ideal son-in-law is one capable of providing material comfort to their daughter, particularly in the form of an apartment. Due to the Conservative attitudes of the parents, they generally frown upon relationships that might distract their children from their all-important studies.
