Baba Ramdev started his indefinite fast against corruption at Ramleela Maidan, Delhi, as talks held by the government with the yoga guru didn't bear any fruit sofar. Baba Ramdev, who arrived at the venue at around 4:50 am and was welcomed with a huge round of applause from his followers. The crowd cheered him whenever he spoke about bringing back black money. Before launching the fast, Baba Ramdev held a yoga and bhajan session during which he told the gathering that his protest was "a satyagraha against corruption intended to save the country from corruption and ensure that the poor get a good life."

Referring to bringing back black money stashed in tax havens abroad, Baba Ramdev said "Nothing is impossible, everything is possible and we are not going to be defeated." "We won't give up till our demands are met," he vowed from the 12 feet high stage at Ramlila Maidan. In response to the queries about the talks he had with the government, Baba told barring one or two main issues, the government is willing to concede to the other demands put forth by us. But we won't give up till all our demands are agreed to. "However, if the government wishes, the talks willcontinue further also," he said.
