The latest buzz in the corridors of power is that Governor E S L Narasimhan will not lay down office on January 22 when his term is going to end, but that he is likely to get a short extension.
This is necessitated by the fact that elections will be on in five states by the time his term ends. After the elections are over, there will be a gubernatorial reshuffle and the replacement for Narasimhan will be finalized then. The talk in the corridors of power is that H R Bharadwaj from neighboring Karnataka could make it to the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. Whether this happens or not, the odds are that you will see Narasimhan around for a few more months.
