A group of Bollywood producers have decided to meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh this afternoon, in the wake of the continuous threats to disrupt the screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil after it releases on October 28. After the meeting, filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt – the president of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India said the home minister had assured them 100% support. “Rajnath Singh assured us 100% support and that he will convey to CM to maintain law and order,” Bhatt was quoted as saying. “Rajnath Singh said he will speak to chief minister of every state and that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will release without any violence or issue,” Bhatt added. The film – which stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan – ran into a storm of protests after nationalist groups, an umbrella organization of single-screen threatres and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena said they won’t let any movie featuring Pakistani artistes get screened in Indian cinemas.
