A Bomb was found on the route taken by senior BJP leader LK Advani's 'Jan Chetna Yatra' in Tamil Nadu. The pipe bomb was found under a bridge  at  Palambati, 30 km away from Madurai, where Mr Advani launched Phase 2 of his yatra. The first phase of his tour which covered parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh ended before Diwali.

Police sources say the bomb has been removed and the rest of Mr Advani's route has been checked carefully. The route of the yatra has been changed after the bomb was found. Mr Advani has dedicated his Jan Chetna Yatra to promoting public awareness for "good governance" and to expose the corruption within the government.
