In a big setback to the Central Bureau of Investigation probing into the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the Hyderabad City Civil Court on Monday rejected its petition to attach his properties and that of N Sunil Reddy and Koneru Prasad, the prime accused in the Emaar Properties case.
The court observed that there are no valid reasons shown in the CBI petition to attach the properties of Sakshi daily, television and Janani Infra, besides the personal properties of Koneru Prasad and Sunil Reddy.
“On the other hand, there are at least eight loopholes in the CBI petition. So, it does not merit any approval for attaching the properties,” the court observed.
The judgement came as a big relief to Sakshi management. Already, the CBI court rejected the state government’s decision to stop advertisements to Sakshi daily and channel. So, there is no immediate threat to the publication and the channel. However, the CBI will use all its legal options to trouble Jagan.
