10 year old hacks Instagram and gets 10,000 $

He might be too young that he couldn’t even have a Facebook account. But Jani, a 10 year old boy from Finland has found a bug on Instagram and was rewarded with a bounty. Jani has recently found a loophole in Instagram which allows any user to delete a comment on the network. Jani has obviously reported the bug to the Facebook, the owner of Instagram. He even challenged that he could delete anyone’s comments through such loophole.

Facebook has accepted the challenge and asked him to delete certain comments and Jani was quick to perform the act. Facebook was so overwhelmed with Jani’s performance that it has given him a bounty for 10,000$ for pointing out the bug. Facebook has been large hearted when it comes to rewarding such point outs. In 2015 alone, it has paid $936,000 to 210 researchers for a total of 526 such reports. And it’s good to know that most of them came from India! Well! We are certainly good at finding loopholes!
