No change in Rajiv, NTR names of Shamshabad airport: Jaitley

Congress and TRS MPs have been strongly protesting in the Parliament on the Centre’s decision about naming of domestic terminal after late NTR. However, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told the members that his government took this decision only after consulting the Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and verifying the old records about the terminal’s old name. Jaitley said that his government will not change the names of both terminals. He said International and domestic terminals will have late Rajiv and NTR names simultaneously and they will not be changed.

So, if the Congress and TRS parties want to continue their fight on this specific issue the only option left for them to knock Supreme Court doors. However, if seen in the context of their fight against Centre’s decision of merging the seven mandals of Khammam district with Andhra Pradesh state, one can understand how this fight is going to conclude.

TRS that gears for a fresh agitation on the Polavaram issue, later simply switched off its programs when Centre made it clear that it will not revoke its decision. So, the intention is not to safeguard the tribal people interests but to convince the people of Telangana that they are their saviors. So, now also Congress and TRS parties may switch off their protests when they both catch some interesting subject that help them to attract the people and media attention.
