Designer Jishad Shamsudeen has expressed strong disappointment over the removal of Mohanlal's scenes from Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. In a statement shared with his followers, Jishad said he would not be associated with a sequel if the Malayalam superstar's role were treated similarly again.
Jishad revealed that he was confident about the film based on what was shot, even when Mohanlal's appearance was reduced to a brief glimpse in the trailer. However, he claimed that three distinct looks of Mohanlal were completely removed from the final cut, including the scene featured in the trailer.

"From my experience in cinema, trimming scenes involving a superstar like Mohanlal Sir is simply unnecessary," he stated, explaining his disappointment with the decision. Jishad also made his position clear regarding a possible sequel. "Seeing our superstar reduced like this, if there is a Sequel, I will not be a part of it. I am truly sorry to everyone who trusted me," he wrote.
Emphasising that his stand was not about commercial gains, he added, "I don't stand for favors, profits, crore clubs, or stardom. I stand solely for the fans, lovers of the craft, and Mohanlal Sir."
His statement has drawn attention to Mohanlal's screen presence in Jailer 2 and the reported removal of his scenes from the final version. Jishad concluded by thanking those who had supported his journey, reiterating his regard for Mohanlal and his contribution to cinema.
