Rangasthalam in controversy

There is no doubt that Rangathalam is a huge hit. It was placed at no.3 position regarding the box office collections of Tollywood. The music of Devi Sri Prasad has of course played a major role in the movies success. However Devi was highly criticised for his attitude towards the folk singers. Firstly it was singer Siva Nagulu who sang the original version of `Aa gattununtava’. His voice was removed from the movie without notice and Devi Sri himself sang the song. Secondly it was `Ganta Venkata Lakshmi’ who sang `Jigelu Rani’. Lakshmi has recently vented her frustration that not even a single rupee was given to her by the mediator who arranged for her singing. The team of Rangasthalam as usual stayed silent on the issue.
